Red Button services not working

Just bought a Humax FoxSat. I don't get all the channels that I think I should and when I use the Red button service on the BBC, I can get the text, but not the Multiscreen. When I try to reinstall the channles, the auto Freesat tune doesn't find anything, but the manual tune does. The satellite is not a new installation but does have 2 LMBs.
Do I need a new disk? New LMB's or just it setting up better?

Firstly welcome to the Forum!

To help you further some more information would be useful. What exactly is missing that you think you should have? Although the dish you are using has 2 LNBs do you know if they are both aligned to the same satellite? For example I have 2 LNBs on one dish, but one is set to Astra 1 and the other to Astra 2.
Did you have any difficulty in the Humax "accepting" your postcode?

BBC red button services (except for sport multiscreen) haven't been implemented yet.

Trying to re-install the freesat channels probably wont achieve anything as the original scan should have allocated all the channels currently available on freesat. Doing the Manual tune doesn't scan for more freesat channels but scans for FTA (Free To Air) channels. These FTA channels are located on the set top box in the Non-Freesat mode and if you press the menu button and select setting then STB Mode toggle using the OK button for freesat mode and non-freesat mode then press exit.

Here is a list of the currently available freesat channels apart from
308 Simply Movies and 852 Smart Live Casino which were both removed recently

It did seem not to like the post code which is probably why I tried the manual tune. As I didn't fit the disk, I'm not aware of it being tuned to more than one satellite. I must therefore be only getting the Free to Air channels. I think my only option is to get an engineer out, though I'll try, as another person suggested, to change the mode.

If the Foxsat doesn't like your post code it is probably because it is having trouble locking to the "home transponder" where all the details about the broadcasts are to be found. I think sometimes a box can get confused, so a factory reset can help, but otherwise it could easily be a reception issue. Perhaps there is a problem with the LNB or alignment of the dish which is causing a problem with getting that particular transmission.

Borrow somebody elses freesat or Sky box to confirm reception is ok (unless you previously had Sky working that is).

Do we know what the Humax position is on the reception of the 'Red Button' BBC interactive services is? Can they be tuned in or are we waiting for some Humax modification to come along.

Just got my FoxSat last week and was astonished when I wasn't able to pull the red Button channels in. Happily the Technomate is still standing alongside

Unfortunately they can't be tuned in to and also unfortunately it's not a Humax issue it is a BBC issue and they don't appear to find it a priority to bring parity to all platforms

It does seem to be a Humax issue that you can't tune in the other multiscreens in non freesat mode as the Panasonic TVs can do it, and presumably the upcoming DVD/Blu ray recorders will also.

I agree partially with what your saying here jzee but the humax box is primarily a Freesat box and built within the specifications that the BBC had a say in. I'm under the impression that the boxes are required to be able tune to free to air channels but not necessarily to additional feeds like red button video. So I believe the onus is on the BBC to make these feeds available via the red button on freesat

Doesn't that equally apply to the Panasonic Freesat TVs? I don't see why the Humaxes should've been subjected to any different rules to the Panasonics.

But they both adhere to the spec in relation to Freesat, I didn't think there was any restrictive rules governing how the non-freesat mode operated.
