I Miss My Guinea Pig

A few weeks ago I had to give away my youngest boy Quincy. He just wasn't settling down or getting on with my oldest. I gave him to a lady who works in the local pet store and he has now moved out of the town to her house. I always ask after him and sometimes I just look at all my pictures of him and cry. Do you think I am a horrible person? I just want him to be happy and I know he wasn't when he was living with me.

you're not a horrible person hon, you did what was best for him at the end of the day
if you're missing him it shows you cared about him, and from your post it seems like you did the right thing by him, and your other pig

Thanks Xdow. It killed me seeing him so unhappy and I just had to do something. I have since learned that he has a girlfriend and that he is blooming in his new home. That makes me happy.

The day he left I had to walk away when he was going because I broke down in tears seeing him leave. I even went as far as wanting him back, but that wouldn't have been right because it's his happiness that is important here.

How old are you? This sounds like your first heartbreak! It will get better with time!

maybe you could get your current boy piggy castrated, it costs about £30, then you could take him along to a rescue centre and he can pick out his own new girlfriend (not all get along) that way it may take your mind off your little one you had to give away, and your older boy will then have the company all piggies need
