Excel rabbit food

I had my rabbits neutered last year, and the vet recommended feeding them a diet bun food as they would be more likely to put on weight.

Since then I've been feeding them a mix of normal Rabbit Excel and the diet version. However, upon checking the ingredients on the packs, it seems they are both made from exactly the same stuff - however, on the diet bag it recommends feeding them half the amount.

Are both types the same? I'm now just feeding them normal Excel, as it seems pointless to go out of my way to buy diet stuff which is the same as the usual stuff!

that's strange... ate the protein, oils, ash percentages the same for each food?

but yeah, basically if you cut any of the food down by half, they're not as likely to gain weight anyway

I know - it just seems strange to make a 'special diet food' which is just the normal stuff in a different wrapper!
