Damn dog

Just taken her down to the beach for a run around. On the way back to the car she projects a clear liquid from her backside as if she was throwing up in reverse.

On her way back in the car I hear some gagging and find she's puked her guts up in the travel cage.

I just cannot get her to stop drinking seawater.

Easy. Don't go to the beach.

That's a shame given your location! It can be dangerous if your dog drinks sea water so you need to avoid this for your dog's sake (as well as the state of your car!).

I thought everyone knew by now sea water is bad for dogs.

My dog used to drink sea water - the best way I found of dealing with it - without her missing out on racing along the beach which she adores - is to take a large bottle of fresh drinking water and a travel bowl, and giving her lots of little drinks all the while. She doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between salt water and fresh water but as long as she's not thirsty, she won't glug down the sea water.

That's what I thought too.... think of all the pollution that might be in there.... dead fish, dead birds etc and you wouldn't give your dog salty water to drink so maybe you could put some sort of muzzle of him while he's near the water so he can't drink it!

you can get dog water bottles with a small bowl thing attached to it, it can be hung from your belt or carried, and it folds up so the bottle sits in the bowl thing when not in use. pets at home sell them, they dont cost much, take one and let her drink little and often as the other posts say.
