I have an RDR-HXD710 and am having a problem dividing a 3.5 hour SP title in order to copy it to DVD.

Basically, it comes up with a message "Cannot insert divide here" or similar. I can divide other titles and I divided a similar title a couple of weeks ago.

Does anyone have any ideas other than to reduce quality which would have to go down to EP which is lower than I want to go?

Any time I've had that problem I just move the divide point a few frames back or forward & it works. It think that it just means that the MPEG stream can't be split at that precise point.

Tried dividing somewhere near beginning, middle (several locations) and end. It seems to be the recording itself which is causing the problem - hopefully not the early signs of HDD problems.

Think I have found a work around in that I can "Capture" a portion of the original and place it in a Playlist which I think I can then Dub to DVD although I have not actually tried it yet. It also looks as if you can combine titles here - I haven't felt the need to use Playlists before and so have not investigated this facility!
