I have noticed some of the recording that I schedule on my new Humax PVR are disappearing...particularly: Film 4 and ITV HD entries. They show up in the schedule at the time of setting, but the next day they have gone and I have to keep re-entering them. Is this a fault with the box or am I doing something wrong?

ITV HD reservations disappear if a freesat channel scan (manual or auto) happens. Adding/moving/deleting non-freesat channels deletes all freesat recording reservations. Other than that they should not disappear.

ITV HD also have been know to remove the HD programs off the EPG too. Havent a clue about film 4.

Ive never seen anything disappear off the schedule though for anything other than ITVHD unless the program schedule has changed.

I have had a couple of ITV HD reservations disappear (Lewis & Kingdom) - unfortunately I cannot remember if a channel re-scan has caused this.

The question is this - is this an issue with Humax or ITV?

we can safely say a channel re-scan in both freesat and non-freesat mode will delete ITV HD reservations and that is a humax issue. However we can't say the same about any issues regarding ITV and the up-dating of series links and/or removal of HD flags. I think the jury is still out on that one.

Personally I would say that HD flags/Series links lies at the feet of ITV.

Quite possibly and I would tend to agree with you, but we don't know whether the specification for Freesat should allow for the adjustment to up-comming schedules by the broadcaster with out any inherent problems effecting the recording via a freesat box.

The Freesat+ Specs must cater for schedule changes on Series Linked schedules (although I don't have copies of them), this is one of the major selling points of the platform.

However ITV HD Flags/Schedules are another matter. Was provision of HD via a Red Button Service, not a full channel, even considered at the time of writing the specs?

Do we really know how Freesat & ITV intend these schedules to work; is losing the HD Timers after a scan a natural function of the Red Button scheme, or not? Why doesn't AutoPadding work the same on ITV HD as on other channels? Who knows if what we are seeing is "working as designed"? I would certainly hope not, and can't believe anyone would design it that way, but ITV HD Red Button is quite a mystery and a black hole as far as information is concerned.

I certainly do not know enough of the technicalities behind it to say where the various "faults" lie.

Hi savvy just for clarity the issue over changes to series linked schedules in my previous post I was referring to the actual changing of the meta data as opposed to the rescheduling of programmes. As discussed in the thread about truncated channel4 series crids I reported that on the sunday I rescheduled with truncated data and when the crids reverted back to the extended versions my CDWM coped without further intervation from myself to record (apart from fridays edition as you know). So with this appearing to prove that the freesat spec does allow for meta data changes in reality most issues being raised point in the opposite direction. The waters just seem to get muddier.

Interestingly, this was just posted on Hummy.org, indicating that Humax accept that the deleting timers will be fixed in the next update. (Don't all jump in with, "but when will this be?" ).

The channel 4 CRID thing was all very confusing with some programs working, some not, some having one series link yet were picking up all the programs for that series even though they were using different series CRID's. All very confusing.

I did note that a one off recording I had set for channel 4 (i.e. not a series) completely disappeared from my schedule during all the CRID changes. Luckily I noticed it though.
