Craig David's Missing Single
ito_eats
05-01-2004
I was in HMV on New Year's Eve and caught sight of a new Craig David single, 'You Don't Miss Your Water', on the new release shelf next to VB, Alistair Griffin et al.....but where did it chart?

It's not Top 40 this week, so any ideas? It's a shocking come-down of it's gone in at # 61 or whatever......

That will teach people not to milk albums dry!

That's why i don't want Delta Goodrem to release Predictable as a single (which its scheduled to) as that will come under milking territory and may not reach top 40 like Craig

They've bled his last album dry now! Cheers all.

Shame he suffered from bad second album syndrome although that track was one of the better ones.

Or wells!

I understand that the single was not a scheduled release, so didn't really get the promotion it would have needed to secure a higher placing. I think a few stations latched on to it as a good song, played it a bit, then the label released it - but I might be wrong about that.

What's sad is that this shows just how much the charts are ruled by marketing budgets rather than good songs - but hey I guess that's nothing new.

I do agree that far to many singles have been released, I hope he comes back stronger though - he is an amazing artist.

You really think that? Personally thought Slicker Than Your Average was a fantastic album, tracks like What's Your Flava, Spanish, Eenie Meenie, Rise & Fall... hardly a bad album in my books.
