call me crazy, but would a doctor who meets robin hood (if done properly) be a fantastic episode (or 2)

think about it, he has met charles dickens, shakespear, agatha christie why not robin hood

written right would make one powerfull episode

Are you thinking specifically about the current TV version of Robin Hood or just the character/legend in general?

The main problem with such a crossover is the massive difference in storytelling 'rules' between the two series. Despite all the anachronisms and inaccuracies, the Robin Hood diegesis doesn't allow for SF concepts like time travel and aliens. The Doctor Who diegesis, however, can adapt to virtually any location/era/situation.

I've often wondered about such a crossover taking place. but big cast changes are coming up for Series 4 in Robin Hood so I don't see it happening any time soon if at all. I suppose it would depend on the script as to whether it would actually work.

I'd rather see a cross-over between the Doctor and Merlin!
I could imagine the Doctor having serious discussions with Merlin, whilst his companion is 'busy' with young Arthur!
And Richard Wilson in the background saying "I don't belieeeeve it!" Another one for Children In Need??

spooky - myself and the wife were talking the other night about a Who/Hood/Merlin crossover and how cool it would be

According to "Battlefield" he may be meeting himself

And about just how similar Merlin looks to Jethro from Midnight

There's a couple of others there he might recognise too.
