When I was in the early stages of my chilli-habbit, I thought i'd go all out and make my myself a really hot curry. Went to buy the ingredients, including a packet of 5 Scotch Bonnet peppers from the supermarket, having no idea how hot they actually are.

I then proceeded to make a single portion of curry using all 5 peppers.

No joke, it took my stomach about 2 months to recover from it. I don't know what was wrong with it in that time, but it just didn't feel right at all - from the moment i'd finished eating!

I worked in a hotel kitchen at Uni and in the firast week they made me chop up a whole freakin crate of chillies. They didn't tell me to wash using cold water (hot water opens the pores in the skin and the capsaicin from the chillies gets in!), so I spent the next ~3 days half blind, in tears, patches of rash all over my body from touching. I also had some fairly painful areas from wiping my @rse and cleaning my jimminy cricket....
