Wilhemina,
You may recall that we had one of our cats (Ziggy) PTS in April and were left with his pining and withdrawn brother (Tigger) they are (were) 15 years old.
After a short period of time, we took on board two kittens from Cats Protection and for a short time all was going well. The kittens were using the litter tray regularly and everything was hunky dory until
We went to the vets to have their second set of injections and at the same time, they were given a worming tablet. Then our problems started.
I posted here before about the acute diarrhoea problems and the mess that was being made in our utility room as the entire area was being covered in cat excrement.
We have been back and forth from the vets several times now trying to get this problem diagnosed and sorted.
It does appear that at least 1 of the kittens does not (now) be able to cope with eating anything like Felix or Whiskas although they were fine on it before that fated visit to the vet. Whilst on Hills prescription food from the vet, things do solidify quite well.
We are now feeding them on Hills food exclusively. We have tried both wet and dry and neither is really curing the diarrhoea entirely its just about holding together !!
The vet is now doing stool tests and we await his findings.
In the meantime, one of the kittens is now not using the tray anymore for No. 2s just next to the litter tray is the place to go it would seem. Not pleasant !!
Do you have any ideas how we can try and get this kitten back into the tray full time ?
We are tearing our hair out. Many thanks.
