Hi,

I've just ordered a Freesat+ receiver because I'm tired of only having Now+Next for channels from the UK.

My dish has 2 twin LNBs. One for Astra 1 and one for Astra 2 which go to my twin input Kathrein receiver. This all works fine.

My question is whether this Humax Freesat+ will be able to find Astra 2 in Freesat mode or will I have to remove both of those DiSEqC switch things which are tied to the pole of my dish and connect only the two inputs from the Astra 2 LNB directly?

My intention was to watch UK television as I currently do and just go to Non-Freesat mode to watch the news and one or two other things on German TV. I'm aware of the scheduled recordings issue if I do this.

Thanks for any help with this in advance!

Mark

I used this.

Works a treat!

You may find that the Humax does not automatically find everything that you want, and a manual scan of a transponder or two might be required. For example mine short changed me on some of the HD stuff on Astra 1, but the manual scan fixed that quite easily!

I'm hoping that Humax fix the loss of scheduled recordings during a non-Freesat scan or channel deletion etc.

Thank you for that. That looks perfect and it seems as though all should work the way I want!

Thanks to you too for that. The images explain that quite well

I might typically watch the BBC news on a weekday evening and then watch the German news at 8pm and then go back to ITV or something.

Similarly I watch Sky News quite often and listen to LBC, Capital and Radio 2.

Is that all relatively easy to do once the channels are all scanned etc.?

No problem! I used a London postcode so that I could get BBC Radio London up on the Freesat EPG which is useful for football comentary (for me) and can record automatically whilst away. However I just checked the stations you want and they are all present and correct in non-Freesat mode.

Enjoy
