That's odd, I though Bob-Cat made it clear that he is speaking on behalf of Humax.
My understanding is that Bob_Cat is a Humax employee who has 'unofficially' provided very welcome help, advice and information about Humax products but who does not post as an 'official representative' of Humax. No doubt he will clarify if he sees the need.

As for Humax responding, they simply have not. A response by the manufacturer means, to me at least, problems solved. They may have acknowledged issues (though I, personally, have not seen any acknowledgment) but, after more than six months, there are still no fixes available for them.

Further on the Remote Control problems, mine is still playing up, not powering the box up or down unless I remove batteries and discharge it, having to do this several times before it will work.
I have contacted Humax about this but nothing back yet.
It has been suggested that if there is a fault you just return it to where you bought it and get a replacement. But if the fault is with the remote only then you should not need to return the box as well.

My remote was playing up a few weeks ago and I rang support. I got a chap who, I think, didn't have English has his first language. He told me to do a factory reset of the box and if it was no better call back. I didn't see the logic of this but tried it anyway. No success.

Rang back and got a different chap who said I had to fill in a warranty claim and send it back with copy of invoice and they would arrange for a swap via courier. I did all that and emphasised that it was only the remote that I wanted to swap.

A short while later I got a phone call from yet another chap who said that previous chap was wrong all I needed to do was send the remote to their service dept. in St Albans where it would be checked straight away and if faulty a replacement would be sent same day. I sent it that day (Monday) and received a replacement pack on Wed. including remote, manual, SCART & HDMI leads. Not bad.

So good service at the third attempt.

The phone No. I used was 0844 669 8800 and I suggest you try it on Monday. I have the name of the third chap but I don't think it would be appropriate to put it on here.

Thanks for the info, I was going to try Humax today but realised I still had a months warranty on the box, so contacted Argos. I received an email back advising me to take the complete item to my local store and I would be given a replacement. This I did todayand now have a brand new box up and running.
I had been experiencing some minor gliches with the box and had been waiting for the long overdue upgrade to hopefully sort them out. With the Remote Control playing up decided me on full replacement.

Maybe Humax are waiting until the majority of warranties run out before attempting and upgrade!!
Just a thought.

I thought the warranty on the box was two years?

Some are, but many are only 12 months.
Humax may give a further 12 months but check your paperwork.
