Are SKY going to start charging for SKY Player?
In the recent Ashes adverts it states "SKY player, free to sports pack subscribers in July and August".
I thought it was always free to sports pack subscribers. This can be taken two ways: They are just mentioning the months as it's when the Ashes is played (if this is the case then it's weird why not say "SKY player, free to sports pack subscribers" or they are going to start charging for it but not until after August. I REALY hope it's the former they already charge so much.

I think it is currently only free for multiroom sky sports pack subscribers. During July and August it will also be free to sky sports subscribers who don't have multiroom.

If they start charging Sky TV subscribers for Sky Player, hardly anyone will use it... certainly not me. I hardly ever use it as it is! |

I don't have multiroom, I can watch Sky Player free of charge, for all the channels in my packages.

"2 months free live Sky Sports onlineSo clearly they are going to charge, if not already, they have got to be joking. I've never watched it even though it is (was) free. So now that I know they will definitely be charging, I never will... ever. You'd have thought they'd have the sense to entice me into watching it while I thought it was always going to be free, before letting the "charging" cat out of the bag. Fools!

I think Sky are pretty pathetic. I'm waiting until this Ashes series is over and then I'm getting rid of them. They treat their existing customers like shit and fleece them out of every penny they can. When I saw that 'July/August' thing - I was even angrier - because it seems obvious to me that it implies that they are going to be charging for it in the future and it's just another instance of Sky charging extra for what should be included in a package.

I received the following e-mail.
http://ebm.newsletter.sky.com/c/tag/...HxTB5Y5XME09qg It implies that live tv on sky player is going to cost £10 per month, unless you have sky as your ISP? Must admit I've never used live streaming, we use it as a movie library when there is nothing else on. Looks like that remains free to movie subscribers. It does seem unfair that they are restricting services to sky internet subscribers, not every exchange has been cherry picked. |

Really Max gives free player?
Sky Player on Demand is free for everyone, with available content dependant on your package I think.(unless they're changing things to bring it in line with Anytime+ which will initially be available to SkyBB users) |

Well, Sky Broadband Unlimited allows you to watch LIVE Sky Player for free, as does having a mulitroom sub.
