I didn't pay much attention during the series, but I've watched a few of the dances back and they make me cringe a little.

Yes the headbanging was odd

Like the Vienesse waltz Brian and Kristina choreographed, there wasn't much waltz in it.

Samba rolls in the VW doesn't work.

Kristina's ballroom is sloppy though. She's the weakest at ballroom out of all the female pro's. Her latin is very good.

Ola Jordan is a latin dancer, her ballroom never used to be that good, but she's carrying herself a lot better and is keeping up with the more Ballroom based female pro's. Last series she was really quite good.
Kristina, Ola and Karen all seem to be on a par on ballroom, with choreography to match! The headbanging and VW with Samba rolls certainly were surprising!

The only ones who do both well to my mind are Flavia and Lilia.

Agree Katie_p I like Karen and her latin dances with Ramps were SO SO exciting.

I agree.

I don't remember samba rolls in a VW! I must have missed it.

Could you put a samba roll in a jive do you think? It may sound ridiculous but I've wondered for a while lol.

True, Xassy. And wait until the celebs and their partners are unveiled. Heaven forbid any of the pros have had any 'work' done.

The furore about Erin's hair, teeth and boobs on the Beeb boards last year was crazy!

Oh, we also had Nicole working as an Elvis impersonator in a chippy - there were an inordinate amount of posts asking where she was!

I guess it's the american ballroom style version of the VW they did.

If you watch DWTS they quite often put a move in the VW that looks like samba rolls. I agree it looks awful along with the female waving her arm up and down in what's supposed to be a graceful move (sometimes it looks more like she's pumping water from a well).

Out of all the american ballroom style dances they do in DWTS the VW is, IMO, the worst - hardly any waltz or turns and lots of rolls and waving.

LOL Saz, love it all, the sillyness is what makes SCD the programme it is.

On a down note!! the only problem I have with SCD is typing too fast then getting all my grammer (ar) wrong. Then the spelling grammer (ar) police getting on at me.

It took a lot of nerve to start this thread, I always think I will be picked on. Yeah I am a big baby. LOL but who cares.

Anymore info please post it here.

Ah yes, the grammar and spelling police started almost as many threads as the people who were desperately seeking Nicole.

And I think every one of them got closed in the end for being off topic.

Shame.

I won't enjoy the 3 minute rule though. That's one of the worst things about the Beeb boards. I do like their smileys though, especially at Christmas.

<snowball> fight, anyone?

Remember Strictly Host Fireman Ian?

I doubt they have, Fliss. The 606 boards are virtually the same - although they do have even better smileys, like pies and pints of beer!

Also- does Darren wear a wig?

And my favourite- about two-thirds of the way through the series, we will undoubtedly see a thread revealing that the Sunday show is in fact recorded on Saturday!

I'm getting a bit giddy even earlier this year.

I love the Sunday show as well (ducks waiting for the rubbish to be thrown at me)

I love being on DS on a Saturday night waiting for the result to come through.

I just love Strictly.
Ahhh I'm loving it all kicking off again too...

The only problem with wishing Strictly to come around soon is that we are wishing away the summer!

It's not is it?

Outrage! Travesty! Let's all demand a refund of our licence fee!

It shows what a great show it is that it can spark so much debate.

Now everybody, don't forget to get a life, get over it, get the point, get on or off your high horse (as the mood takes you) and all in all, get ready for SCD!

Did you post on the Beeb last year, Tim? I'm wondering whether our paths crossed over there?

I couldn't access DS from work last series so I'm looking forward to it this year. I'm not sure how I'll manage with 2 boards though - they can move pretty quickly, especially after some results (Kate/Sergeant Gate being particularly memorable).
