HI Alan, record your music onto an external hard drive, make sure it has a usb wire, the best is wd my passport, plug the usb into the back of the humax, press media go to music, go to change device, change to usb and your files will come up

i didnt know this how do you play mp3s
1)put some mp3 files onto a usb stick/drive and you can play them from there or
2)you can place them from the stick/drive onto the hdd.

(1) Put the usb stick/drive in and the message with appear on screen confirming the connection. Press the media button and then the yellow button. press yellow again so that the device changes to USB1. Then press the 'OK' button to open the folder containing the mp3s and then select the file and press 'ok'.

(2) again place usb stick/drive in stb port press the media button press the yellow button. press the yellow button again repeatedly until the dice changes to USB1 and then press the 'opt+' button. press the > cursor button to select the right hand pane press ok to open the folder containing the files and then press the yellow button for edit mode and press the 'ok' button to highlight the files for transfer. Press the < button to switch back to the left hand pane and the n press the green button.

playback of files on the hdd is similar to that on the usb stick/drive but when pressing the yellow button the device should be HDD:/Music>

You can do the same with picture but this time the selection is made using the blue button instead of the yellow

The thing to remember is the box will only see the particular type of file relevent to the colour of the button you press. Red video, green radio, yellow music and blue photo. And remember to open and close the folders by toggling the 'OK' button.
