if the line up times and the TV listings are to be believed we will only see a small part of springsteen live.

is this a case of BS not wanting his complete set to be live for fear of loss of sales of CDs, tour tickets, DVDs

or the bbc just be arsey

I hope they do show the majority of the set on the red button or something, not all of it, cause Bruce usually likes to keep something back for the fans that were there.

I hope they do show it all, Bruce is better than every other act on the bill multiplied by one million.

Why should the fans there get more than those who aren't? He wasn't announced on the bill until after the tickets were on sale so how many of them are actual Bruce fans and not just fans of the usual hippie nonsense you get at Glasto.

I hope he's on live as it will be a great preview before I go see him at Hampden. However artists often impose restrictions on the TV coverage...at Glast The Killers didn't allow live footage a couple of years back and last year Leonard Cohen didn't allow any TV at all...The Boss may have imposed similar restrictions

I thought he was to take to the stage at 11.10pm on Saturday night. BBC2 is billed as showing him live on the night and their coverage begins at 11pm. I imagine they will show most of the gig live (like they did with The Who a couple of years ago), but I also believe that Bruce is to play for 2.5 hours, so unless the interactive streams keep running, the last part of the show won't be televised.

The boss goes on stage 10.15 to 12.00.
Only allowing him 2hrs 15 mins but he has requested a 3 hr set.
Just have to wait and see but not being shown LIVE.
A DISCGRACE

I don't think the whole set will be screened..be delighted if it is, but I think it's more likely only a couple of songs will be shown, thanks to his management.

I thought that the Glasto organisers had settled on a 2.5 hour set (after Bruce asked for 3 hours). 10.15pm to midnight would only be 1 3/4 hrs. Either way, probably best to check out the interactive streams and see whats being shown.

I believe Leonard Cohen did it to stop Sony making more money from him.

I'll be gutted if Springsteen's coverage is reduced to a couple of songs. Probably be Born to Run and Dancing In the Dark knowing the great minds at the BBC.

The set is unlikely to run for much more than an hour and twenty minutes.
This is a festival, it's not a Springsteen concert and while he's a headliner, he's no bigger a name than, say, Paul McCartney was a few years back.
The Glastonbury license states that the Pyramid Stage has a 12.30am curfew on friday and saturday, and midnight on Sunday.

Of this year's headliners, I'd personally put Neil Young above Springsteen, never mind McCartney.
I enjoy Bruce's music and have been a part time fan since I discovered him as the writer of Patti Smith's record "Because The Night", but I think Young's catalogue is more significant and inspirational (despite the fact he's churned out some real turkeys) than Springsteen's somewhat pedestrian style.

Just my opinion!

Eh? Are you suggesting people who have paid for a ticket have no more right to see him than people sitting at home watching BBC?

Totally agree. Some of his shows have run to 3+ hours. The Nassua shows in late December 1980. Winterland in 1978 is of his greatest shows eevr, if not the greatest in some fans eyes. Personally I'd plump for Nassua 29th December 1980 mainly because it has possibly the definitive live version of Incident On 57th Street.
Bruce IS the greatest live performer of the last 35 years. Forget all these so-called ones now who cheat you by using gimmicks like losts of dancing to take your eys and mind of the fact they can't sing or perform properly.

Completely agree - you'll never see a better live show than Bruce & the E Street Band. I was at the Emirates last year, and couldn't get over how much energy and fun they put into it - you wouldn't have believed it was over 20 years since Born in the USA - the performance was outstanding for a man in his 50's.

I'll be gutted if it doesn't show his whole set tonight!

Springsteen has just been on BBC red button coverage playing with the Gaslight Anthem - the crowd went nuts.

Going to be a very big crowd tonight I think!

I don't believe the BBC are allowed to show the whole set only part of it. I have never seen any act have it's full set shown on all the years I have been watching.
