Heres a weird, but true, tale for ya. A bulk email went out to everyone in the company i worked for asking people who were heading to the Nottingham office to try not to eat garlic the night before, as someone there was terribly allergic to it, even on someones breath. we all had a chuckle and i thought nowt more of it.
anyway on a training day I met said woman and being the nosy mare I am, asked her what it was all about. She had had a garlic allergy for a few years that was getting worse and worse, to the point where if she even was sat near someone who had eaten it she would come out in hives, couldnt breathe etc.
Anyway, she had tried everything to cure herself from the docs til as a last resort they suggested a vegetable diet. She had to eat nothing but raw vegtables and drink nothing but water for 8 weeks (i think it was 8 weeks).
ANyway, she tried that and she said she got on the bus one day and a bloke sat down next to her and smelt of garlic and she started to panic thinking she would get ill, but she said nothing happened... then a few days later, she tried a slice of pizza with a touch of garlic sauce and again nothing happened. then she tried garlic and nothing happened - she was cured!!!
True story.
