Take out - Love it or hate it!

I'm a "Love it" for take out! All kinds!

I do enjoy a good Donna kebab! Even if I have not been drinking.

It has to be in a flower wrap - lamb donna meat, leutice, onions & mayo!

A load of Thai sweet chilli dipping sauce on top makes it all the better!

Also, when I went to a mates in Leeds, I ordered a "Curry pizza" - Deep crust base, cheese topped off with chicken tikka masala! OMG! And you could order them up until 5pm! free delivery too!

So come on - share your take out loves & hates!

I am partial to the occaisonal chicken shish but haven't eaten donar for as long as I can remember (bluerghh!)

I rarely have takeaways (maybe a Maccy D's or KFC once a month at a push) and have never had any food delivered to the flat in the 18 months we have lived there .......

I dont really have takeaways, but not because i dont like them. Its because we dont have any near us.

If we are passing though, i love a good curry. There is a chinese about 15 miles away, and i like their 'special' dish which is a bit of everything including all meats, prawns, rice AND bean sprouts. Lovely.

Our local Indian Takeaway is great. We're on first name terms now and often get freebies with our orders.

I haven't had a takeaway for a couple of months. Credit Crunch - just knock up my own stirfrys or chicken kebabs at home.
The last I had was a lovely donner kebab. Only ordered a small on with salad, pitta and both sauces. There was tonnes of it. I got three meals out of it.

There's a good place in town that has a clay/tandorri type oven and they make fresh naan/flat breads. They do a donner wrap for £2. They bread is great. I've even just asked for the bread on it's own before.

I don't really like getting Indians any more because they have become so expensive. £5 for the main, then you need naan, chips and maybe a starter.
Some of them do a Thursday and/or Sunday deal where you get 5 courses for £7.95. I'm just waiting 'til I fancy an Indian on a Thursday/Sunday. The last couple of Sundays i've made my own curries from scratch and they've been pretty darn good IMO

Just sad I used to love chinese an all

And no where decent round here delivers.

We have takeaway every Friday night. Love pizza the best. Usually from Pizza Hut or Perfect Pizza.

Chinese, too. Love my chicken chow mein.

We also have a great burger/kebab joint near us whose food is great at terrific prices, and their portions are huge! Their chicken burger and quarter-pounder are particularly delicious!

There aren't many good take out places round my way - no Indians and only a handful of quite horrible Chinese ones; it's mainly just souvlaki/fast food/pizza etc... none of which is all that nice. There's been a new spate of delivery burger chains opening up and they all look fairly rank too! Back in London I used to love a good curry though - miss that now!

This is the same with us!! Although we have had to cut back now. Chinese is also a favourite, but we have that less than an Indian!

Don't do take outs.... always have a raging thirst afterwards if I do ever succumb, and I don't like the fact i don't know what is in it, how hygienically it has been prepared, and the cost ( can make it at home for a fraction of the price ).

I used to love a Donner kebab but haven't had one in three years since I went on a health kick..I do miss them and will need to try one again soon...not sure my stomack could take the sat-fat overload tho'...still one kebab ain't gonna kill me.

I do love Indian...hot and Saturday night is curry night - usually Chicken Tikka Karahi ( cooked in Bhoona consistency sauce with chillies, ginger and garlic ) , a boiled rice and a Tandoori Roti....with spiced onions on the side.

The curry house I go to uses veggie oil instead of ghee and doesn't use artificial colourings or preservatives so not too unhealthy as a weekend treat. I avoid the nan and find a tandoori roti ( baked in oven, not pan fried ) suffices.

Oh, and the very occasional fish n chips

Local takeaways here range from being very mediocre to absolutely disgusting. I avoid them unless there's no other option.

Snap, we even got a christmas card from ours and whenver I order he just takes the order and doesn't bother asking for the address as he already knows

I love take outs, cant see anything wrong with them, some people frown upon them as they are given the same sort of name as processed food but I still dont care....and Im a qualified chef

I also love a good Donner Kebab, wrapped in a Garlic Nann bread with tonnes of mint sauce and onions. But even better then that my local does a 'Super Donner' which has donner meat, shish kebab, chicken tikka in a huge garlic bread. It might have you full for 3 days but its f*****G superb!!!!

Other faves are:

Lamb Massala, Chips and Nann.
A 1/2 Pound Special burger (beef burger, smoked bacon, cheese and fried onions)
Or my local takeaway does a lovley 'special garlic bread' which has a thin and crispy base with tonnes of garlic and tomatoes and then some golden bubbling mozzarella on top.
BBQ chicken wings.

God its 10.00 in the morning and Im now salviating for a take out

Mega kebab (£8.50 from the Seagull, Cavendish, Derby). Big naan, lamb donner, chicken tikka, lamb shish, tandoori chicken leg, salad, garlic and chilli sauce. Feeds two of us for two meals.

Parmos from Teesside.

Pizzas in particular from Middlesbrough for some reason are outstanding as is the garlic sauce. Why cant anywhere else get garlic sauce right?

Nothing better than a good takeaway. A bad takeaway is like someone shitting in your kitchen and you have to pay for it. I think you try once and if the place is no good then never go back. I have like two takeaways which I know do great food consistantley so I tend to stick with them but if I am always willing to give a new place a try.

When will takeaway places get it....do the food well and they will come back. (Oh dam I forgot about drunk people!)

I usually get a chinese on a friday night with a DVD. I tend to go for the same thing everytime though. It's always hot and sour soup and hot and spicy garlic chicken with egg fried rice and a bottle of coke

My favourite take out by far is Pizza but not places like Pizza Hut or Dominos. Local shops, much better taste and value. £15 for 2 x 16" Pizzas! Or if you have a Big Johns (Birmingham) near you they do a 20" Custom Pizza for £13.

A few years ago I used to love Donner Kebab. I still eat it now but Im not so keen on it from the chippy. In places of Birmingham (Saltley area) you have the asian food places who do very nice Mixed Kebab on Naan. There is a place called Lahore Kebab on Alum Rock Road where for £4.50 you get a Naan, Donner Kebab, Chicken Tikka and a Shish Kebab.

I probably only go there once every few months but always look forward to that meal!

Every now and then I switch from a chinese to an indian. The take away in my town does a great Chicken Vindaloo, but god it is hot. I thought I was choking to death the first time I got it

Love it!

Every few months we get a Chinese take-away.

When I was on holiday there was this Pizzeria that did take-away Pizza's - there Pizza's were heavenly! I wouldn't go near the Pizza take-away's in my town - I usually get the frozen Pizza's & stick them in the oven.
