Hi There!
I got this phone today, its very very good, but i was wondering if there is anyway u can change what the two softkeys take u to from the idle state. At the minute one of them is phonebook (i don't mind that) but the other says 'O2', and whenever u press it it makes u go on the internet or whatever and it costs me money. I'd much rather it takes me to the message centre. Please help!!

Thanks in advance!
Jim.

i dnt think u can change that. on most phones which have soft keys you cant change the one which takes you to wap. but the other 1 should be changeable, look in the settings or something. soz.

I got this phone recently and have not found a way to change the softkeys, not even one of them which is slighly annoying. Going slightly ot does anyone know where to get a data cable for this phone from in the uk? The only ones i've found seem to be from singapore and australia. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been looking too for cable here in the UK without luck.

In the end i got one on ebay.co.uk and works perfectly and only cost £10 all the way from HK

Just like to say, great phone for the money £80 and that is a bargain

I just got the E365 yesterday, but I want to turn off the start-up tune? is it possible. even if I put the slient profile on I still get the tune when I turn on/off the phone.

I did manage to get rid of it once, the phone just vibrated, but can not get that to work again

Thanks

Chris

I've got mine in silent and theres no annoying tune on start up or turn off

Go to silent and edit the profile to vibrate or flash only and do that on all alert types.

Sadly thats the only way to turn off the annoying tune and probably not good if you want to hear the phone ring in a noisy environment

thanks dubster

At least I know I can turn that tune off now. I just wanted to be able to turn my phone off in a slient room without everyone looking. I don't mind going into the profile first then turning it off.

Brilliant,
was about to send the phone back to orange and swap just because of that

I've got another question about the E365. I don't really want to pay to download wall papers for my phone that arn't very good, is there another way that I can set a pic for my wall paper, without taking a picture of it. Is it possible to email using wap if have the right size???? If so do you know what size I need?

if this is not possible is there any good websites that have good screensavers, wallpapers etc??

Thanks everyone

Chris

You can email pics to your phone, but i'm not sure how its done that way

I'm using a data cable (£10) to upload wallpaper from pc to my phone,so thats why i haven't gone into emailing pics.

I'll have a look at getting a data cable, hopefully it will work on my mac, do you just get them from any phone shop? Where did you get your's from, could do with a usb one.

Also do you know what size and res i would need to do for the pic.

How do the data cables work? does it open some sort of drive on your phone????

Thanks for all your help

You need software which comes with the cable and that sorts out res, size automatically.

Not sure if highstreet shops will stock the cable and if it works on a mac

I got mine on ebay.co.uk for £11 with software (handset manager) from a guy in Hong Kong, don't worry the guy is a good reliable seller

You can get them from here also, but he doesn't supply software with the cable. http://www.activemobiles.com/motorola_datacables.htm

Not sure if that comes with handset manager?? it probably only comes with driver cd.

Send a question and ask whats on the cd.

I just checked my cable instructions and there was nothing on it for mac's so that could be problem

Hi, I am currently thinking of getting the Motorola E365 or the Nokia 3100. Just a couple of questions about the Motorola - when sending text messages (I'm on Orange) is there a facility to receive delivery receipts/status report, I can on my Siemens A50.

I have looked about on the net and a couple of people have mentioned that there were bugs with earlier versions of the software in the phone, has this been fixed? Lastly, the display models in the shops seem a bit plasticy, is that just because they are display or are the phones like that!

Cheers,

Mike

Hi, recently got my first camera phone, the Motorola E365 and have noticed something. When set to night mode and high resoloution the picture quality is excellent, tho very jerky when you move it around, not a problme tho. However when it is is automatic, not night mode, the pictures is no where near as good (not bothered) and there are lot's of blue faint blue lines on the screen, sometimes worse than others, when in this mode however movement is much smoother, is this normal for some camera phones, is the blue lines just a result of the lower quality and displaying a smoother picture?

because with high res on, its betta quality so it takes up more space, ie making it slower
when low res is on it is worse quality = smaller space taking up

Hi, cheers for the response, yeah I thought ut would be that with the picture quality, that wasn't what bothered me, it was the kind of blue lines that stroll across the screen, like some type of crazy matrix effect, is that normal or frequent to some degree?
