My E365 arrived this morning, took les than one day to arrive from the orange website

Couple of questions - been on its first charge since 11am (when I popped home from work), how long should i keep it charging for? Also, how do i know which software version is on the phone?

Cheers

Thanks for the reply's. Sorry if i'm going on about it to much but how bad are the blue line on people who have this phone. My girlfreind has the same one and heres doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as mine. I have one picture where there is 5 -7 quite thick blue lines really obvious in the picture, not the really thin ones that go all the way down, is this the same for all camera phones?

I have not heard of these lnes before, but othrwise no. It is not the same for all camera phones.
Most phones suffer from 'speckles' on the pictures this is due to simply poor wuality pictures.

Lines are sometimes noticeable in night pic mode, certainly not thick blue lines and it should never happen in daylight shots.

Might be best to take it back and see what they say?

hmm, I think I will take it back then as these lines are very noticable, like I said much worse than on my girlfriends phone. Maybe I just got unlucky?

You have had a orange phone before?? probably a silly question but believe me i've had more trouble with orange being totally cr@p in my home (outside fine) than any other provider

If you have had orange before?,take it back and try another phone.

I will say the e365 is great on t-mobile,02 in my house,so don't blame the phone, its good for reception.

Has anyone noticed the other blue lines yet? The phone has to be in Automatic for the light setting and it is ussually only notoble in artificial light and when it is darker. I've looked online and other people have mentioned this and if you go here http://www.mobile-review.com/review/...-e365-en.shtml and scroll down to images of pis taken from the phone you can clearly see the blue lines on the night pictures, especially the one on the right (that is there twice). This is an example of the blue lines I was talking about.

These only seem to appear in automatic light setting and not night.

Night is much better and is higher quality, is it possible that most camera mobiles are normaly set up similar to the E365 night mode, which is why the blue lines don't appear on them? what is the advantage of the automatic setting on this phone anyway? thanks for the help!

Hi! The only time i ever get blue lines on my camera is when the setting is on Automatic when im inside the house in bad lighting (when its dark and you've got the house lights on) When this happens i just switch it to night (with the resolution set to high) and i get a really awesome picture! Though the camera does move a little slow when its on the night mode! When im outside through the day, i switch it to automatic and again the picture quality is brilliant and the camera responds a lot faster. The only thing that stresses me out is texting. When i start a text, the phone responds really fast, but it seems the futher i get into the message, the slower the phone responds, and i end up waiting ages for it to scroll to the next letter! Has anyone else experienced this? Also, sometimes my camera wont come on, i'll press the button and it will say "please wait", and i wait and then it will just bring me back to my main screen, after a few tries it usually works. I've also had trouble with the phone turning itself off when i tried to send picture messages, but i think that had something to do with not having a full signal bar.

I haven't taken many pics in automatic mode at night,so thats probably why i wasn't fussed when i noticed them on the odd occasion when i forgot to put it in night mode, but i just had a look and you can clearly see the lines only happen in automatic mode.So i guess automatic mode isn't designed for night shots only daytime shots.

Heres a few pics i've taken with my phone and they were taken in auto mode.

lollipopchick,i havent had any problems with texting, but i know the camera problem has occured on a few e365,so i guess thats a bug in the software somewhere.

Dubster, have you taken any pics like the ones in your link during the day set on night? I find that even during the day when set to Night I still get a better picture than automatic even tho the pictures is jerkier and takes longer to focus. It would be good to compare some automatic to night shots during the day.

cheers for that, look pretty similar the night mode one has a softer focus making the automatic better, strange as on the phone itself the pictures look much better on night mode, maybe it's just the way the screen displays it.

Yeah night mode does look better on the phone,i think its something to do with compression and the night mode doesn't compress the pic as much as auto mode.i'm sure i read that somewhere, cant remember where.

Hi

I receieved my E365 from Orange yesterday. At first the camera worked fine - but recently today - when from either the main screen press the camera button - or in the menu in the "more" section - select camera from there, it goes "please wait..." then goes back to the main screen and doesnt go to the camera.

Do you know what could be wrong? I've tried turning off then on my phone a few times but nothing new happens

I've got the E365 on Orange PAYG but haven't yet worked out how to send photo messages to email addresses, if this is at all possible. I can send emails easily enough and can send photo messages to other phones but can't quite work out how to send a photo message to an email address.

I thought the logical way would be to send the multimedia message to the designated email address but this always comes up with "unable to send message". Any ideas on how this can be done?

Many thanks for your help,
Pat

Hi

Have now sorted the camera prob out - thanks!

Pat - What I do - is when I have taken the photo I click store - then click Send as MMS. Instead of typing in a phone number I just typed in an email address - pressed send and it worked. I checked on the PC and I had receieved it. I'm sure you can also select an email address from your phonebook too instead of typing it out again.
