I can't remember which reality music show it was but there was an amazing blind guy on one and he was absolutely fantastic. I think his name might have been Andrew. Why shouldn't a blind person compete? Don't we already have a highly repected blind opera singer?

Not remembering is really bugging me. Does anyone else remember that guy and what show he was on? Were there judges? What did they say to him?
Think I might be talking to myself. Everyone else seems to be having a long lie whereas I've just had a very long Saturday!

But I do find that a lot of people offer patience and kindness. I had no feeling that he trivialised my son's disabilities - IMO, he overdramatised things. I gave my opinion and that's your opinion about Gareth/Will but I refuse to be drawn into a discussion about whose child has the most severe disablilty. I didn't suggest I was. Don't be so cheeky This was never intended as a discussion of whose child has the most severe disability. The point was I think you are being ridiclious suggesting that either Gareth/Will has a disability. They would laugh at them if they tried to claim DLA. Don't even suggest that I would use my child as such. It is clear from my sentence what I meant and for you to say this disgusts me. Are you just trying to bait I wonder. I gave you the curitousy of not even mentioning your child. Why don't you try to be a decent human being and do the same thing. Yes you did your post read as the viewpoints of a mother of a disabled child you will notice that initially I didn't feel the need to talk about my child only after you decided to become the voice of the disabled mother to somehow say my opinion was invalid did I mention it. |

T--J and Battery Chicken,
I am certain that you are both lovely people, and it seems to me that you are not fundamentally at odds. This is really a very emotive topic, and it is extremely difficult to discuss a subject like this on a messageboard. The points you are arguing about are really quite subtle. What really disgusts and angers me is that DH, who I believe to be a troll - and whose post should have been deleted by the mods IMO for its gross offensiveness - has succeeded in upsetting two mothers of disabled children. This is a very good illustration of why malicious posts like DH's should not be given the time of day. Perhaps if we were all to complain to the mods next time this happens, rather than giving people like DH the satisfaction of causing disruption like this... ? Ruby xx |

I am sure you are a nice person and we will need to agree to disagree. |

Is that proof that there are plently more where he came from? Not really...but it is one alternative example nevertheless.how about when talking about the show with people who weren't viewers, they would say 'is the fat girl still in? Oh, I want her to win' - without hearing her sing a (nasal) note.....most of these people will have tuned in and voted in the final. Ruby...I totally agree with you...I know that a couple of us did indeed inform the mods about DH...nothing was done, I'm afraid to say. |

Who the hell do you think you are!!!!!! You may be stressed out and even depressed (yes, I've been there It was YOUR post which invited a pi$$ing contest over the severity of our children's disabilities, as you suggested 'Come and meet child and you would realise how trivial these are...' so I was simply refusing to rise to YOUR bait. I repeat, nowhere did I suggest I was speaking for ALL mothers of disabled children, I was simply speaking on behalf of MY FAMILY.Quote:
No meant offense T--J.
