Regina Spektor - Far

Noticed there was no thread for this very underrated singer's new album. Has anyone got this? It came out last Monday, and I honestly can't stop playing it; I'm a huge Regina fan!

What does anyone else think? And is anyone planning to go to her gig on the 29th in London?

I think its a worthy follow up to Begin to Hope , although the latter may have been initially more accessible. Far is more of a grower , gets better with each listen and this release , coupled with her Glastonbury and Jools exposure will hopefully propel her into the mainstream.

Talented singer / songwriter with an quirky writing style and a subtle voice.

Love the singer and love the new album.

Her Glastonbury performance was good - well the bits they showed of it. You can still watch about 30 mins of it on the BBCs Glastonbury microsite.

Really good album, I have a feeling this will get a lot more plays than Begin To Hope got which I never really connected all that much with. It's not perfect.. there are some skippable tracks but overall I really like it.

I know from reading Last.fm etc that a lot of hardcore Regina fans are up in arms because of the "over-production" but I don't have a problem with it at all.

I hadn't heard much Regina Spektor before but Radio1 have been playing her song Laughing With, which I fell in love with, so I went to check out the album and I thought it was ok, but not amazing tbh.

I like Regina, and heard Far on Spotify today, and it's pretty good. But I prefer Begin to Hope and Soviet Kitsch.
