Big Brother - It can return in blaze of glory!
Nate Seinfeld
07-01-2004
It is my firm belief that BB5 can return in being the fully entertaining show it was for the first three years.

A new look logo and house, better analysis of the people who are auditioning for it and a fresher spin on the in-house tasks will always be welcome.

I just hope that Endemol - who now have production staff with Reality in their job titles, on Shattered for example there is a reality producer, reality director etc - can use their skills to make this summer's show a memorable and engaging one for the viewers.

I'd be interested to hear what other forum members have in mind that could improve the show.

Jon's sticking with his job at the Gas Board, hoping that the pensions there are ring fenced.

The shrieking girl ( Cissy ?, Sissie ? ) is on standby at BT in case the cross Atlantic phone lines go down

Camoron is still fishing for sprats in the murky waters of minor celebdom

Scott is revelling in his fame as 'the forgotton man of Big Brother'. Well, amongst his friends and neighbours he is.

Let's hope these people have learned lessons by practising on Shattered. It was a typical Endemol / C4 show ... unfairness still rife .... favouritism blatent and it was obvious that things were thought of as/when required ... ie not planned and no contingencies in event of 'change of plan' or emergencies

Nah ... C4/Endemol have got to do a lot better than Shattered ...

I'm only new to this forum but I have to say that I disagree with alot of what other forum members have said about BB4 this year. I think this year was just as good as BB3, and I'm gonna be controversial here by saying that maybe it was even better. Just because the press said it was boring, everybody decided to jump on the bad wagon by slagging it off. Last year would have been a failure if it wasn't for Jade. This year they had alot of twists and suprises which I thought were excellent. I have to also disagree when people say that the h/ms were boring too. The likes of Jon, Federico, Tania and most of all Ray were far from dull. I think everyone should lay off from slagging BB4 off. We had the most outrageous episodes in BB history this year with the leprechaun orgy and Ray pleasuring himself.

Errrm..Surprising as this may seem BB4....but we're the sort to have noticed BB4 had it's problems before the press told us....

Welcome to the forum by the way.....

I agree with you in that I followed BB4 very closely and really enjoyed it.Most of us are Jon fans here and feel he was the true winner as you can read in the threads if you want.I also liked Ray and Nush a lot-they were the most lively I thought.
The problem with BB4 was that they didn't really do enough and BB was reduced to trying to prod them with sticks-bit like in a zoo on a hot day-all the animals just lounge around.
Mostly we liked BB3 better because there were more lively characters in the house who apart from the divide were pretty much left to themselves to create havoc and make up their own games.
Jade was interesting and is v high profile but Alex and Kate are hugely popular and unpopular here.

Don't forget that BB4 was "back to basics". Sorry to keep on using Ray as an example but I read an article of something he said. He said that he used to go into the diary room and ask Big Brother for equipment or material to make things to keep everyone from just sitting around and to keep everyone on the go but most of the time Big Brother would say No as it was back to basics and they had to make do with stuff in the house. He then said that when he finally found material to make things from, he used to get called to the diary room and then told not to use it. In my opinion, it wasn't the h/ms fault for this years "failure", it was all down to Endemol.

I'm a huge fan of the show also. I've seen them all and each year I have higher expectations. In fairness, there were a few....as in 2 or 3 episodes that were terrible but there were some terrible ones last year also. I feel sorry for the BB4 h/ms this year coz of the grief they got from the press but if Endemol were listening to the bad publicity it was getting, they should of thrown a few more daily tasks for the h/ms to do. Don't forget also the h/ms were stuck in there 24/7 and there's only so much you can do in a closed area with little other equipment, i.e a ball e.t.c

Thanks for the welcome anyway

sorry i just do not agree-the poor side in BB3 was more basic than anything in BB4.And BB4 had some interesting tasks which took time up whereas BB3 did not really.

And you make do with what there is-I am still amazed at Jonny's creative mind to think up games to play-only jon really made the effort to use his brain in BB4 and he got nominated every week for his pains!!

No ball? let them use oranges.
No scooter? let them use trolleyes.
no phone? let them use knickers.
and you would be amazed at what 3 creative minds can come up with with a sugar puffs toy.
or a piece of large plastic tube
or playing hide and seek (well done Alex)
or just use a pillow or a hose even.
ah -how we all laughed at their antics eh.

The BB team in the UK really do need to take a look at some of the overseas versions. far, far superior.

there was one mad night that you missed when they were racing the shopping trolleys round the house and also trying to get as many in one trolley as possible-Alex was such a sweetie that time-possibly his best moments.Kate and PJ were hyperactive as it was the last days for one of them.(Jade wimped out-she might have been on tap then can't quite remember)

the other is a "pet" theory of mine -but maybe just me -probably not worth going into.(I think Jon has mentioned something-and Cam has been challenged but remains silent(as ever!))

I don't think they had trolleys in it this years big brother. I remember the episode now from BB3.
