Twist Revealed
This was posted at Reality BBQ
First up, we have a theme throughout the house this year - called "The Have and The Have-Not's". You should be able to get the general idea regarding what that's about from the name. Now to much talked about High School theme that has caused various rumors to spread out over the internet. Here is how it will work: Big Brother has cast people who they believe represent some typical high school stereotypes. However, it will not be Big Brother pairing them up. Once they enter the house, they will be told to form the cliques themselves - Big Brother will not force them together like Big Brother 9. In other words, Big Brother could have cast someone that they see as a Jock but the houseguests could decide that they are a "geek" instead. Once these cliques are formed, they will play as teams for a while, but they will eventually split off into individuals and play the Big Brother Game by themselves. I personally am not too excited about it but there it is. Here is the link http://www.realitybbq.com/index.php/...ists-revealed/ The cast should be revealed on July 1st. |

The twists always fail anyway though. |

Oh.. I dont understand how that works? Please dont tell me their making them become teams, because we all saw how shit it was in BB9. I think this twist strays too far from the actual game

It seems they will choose teams based on what group they were in in high school (Jocks, Nerds, Cheerleaders etc) and the first couple of weeks will be based on teams. So if a Nerd wins HoH, all the Nerds will be safe...that's my understanding anyway.
It seems a bit pointless, I mean they make alliances early anyway, so why the need to force them in to it? But like I say, the twist in BBUSA are always crap, it's the actual game play that is the interesting part and as long as we have that and some entertaining housemates I don't mind.

I think i'd prefer this twist if it was only to determine things like food for the week etc. I dont like the thought of anyone being safe without winning HoH. Nobody should be safe except for the HoH.

What's the point, they form teams alliances anyway? I think they should have just stuck in 'highschool stereotypes' and made that the twist. I agree with Kyle, forcing to them to make teams would be better if it was just for food etc.
Why would they have a theme that is similar to the one that failed so badly in BB9? What was the theme last season? I can't remember

Haves vs. Have-nots?
So let me guess, the haves will live in luxury on normal food and win immunity, whilst the have-not's will sleep on cots, eat slop for the week and be ellegible (sp?) for nomination. This twist sounds a bit too Survivor-ish if you ask me, as much as I love Survivor, but they're two seperate shows. Plus what I gather from it, it sounds like Fiji, in which the haves vs. have-nots twist really didn't work at all. |

I guess on the plus-side, the twist sounds like it will have them playing in blocks from the beginning, rather than trying to vote as a single-unit for the first few weeks before the alliances become more clear, which is actually kind of dull and happens quite often initially......
I remember last season everyone only wanting to vote the way which the HoH decided, for some weeks, before Libra & Keesha decided to go against April and she was shocked.... But I think this has been more of a problem in other seasons (season 8 was like this apart from the Donatos). Still not sure actually. But trying to think of how it might potentially be a good thing.

I don't like it. I hope these teams breakdown as quickly as possible. Although good players will look to recruit allies outside their team.....thus helping us to identify worthy prospects.

Hopefully it only lasts for the first two or three evictions and then they go individual. |

I always find the cliques malarkey on American shows annoying because I think it's completely lame that they even exist in the way they do and it's not something we really have over here -- so a whole season of BBUSA based on the cliques really doesn't appeal to me at all.

Oh cliques exist in British schools too. Maybe not to the extent of the US, but you can clearly define the geeks from the sporty types to the populars.

That's the weird thing about US. It is SO cliquey, even at university they have the frats and the sororitys.

But the USA cliques are so clearly defined and you HAVE to be part of one of them, you HAVE to act and dress according to your clique etc. |

I think the same could be said for any where in the world, there will always be groups and people who are more popular in schools, collages, even the workplace.

Remember the secert partners in BB6, that sounded awful and it was, but BB6 still turned out to be one of the best seasons. |
