Wrong Forum for this, there's a whole WHO sub-section available, but never mind.

There was no fifth series this year, but a series of specials, one of which aired at Easter, the next is expected in October/November (Waters of Mars), with David Tennant's Doctor saying goodbye in a two-part Christmas special.

The Official fifth series is likely to start in Spring 2010 with Steven Moffatt as lead writer/producer and Matt Smith as the Doctor.

You're not much of a fan if you didn't already know that!

In fairness it has a very large mainstream audience who probably dont give a damn about behind the scenes stuff.

I'm not even a proper "Whovian," I'd never use that term to refer to myself, I'm just a fan of good entertaining sci-fi, a mid-level geek if you like.

But you're right, around 8.5m of the 9m viewers won't know or care about most of the details I reeled off the top of my head!

But that info had all been in the tabloids. Do you know how many people read The Sun? Quite a few million I'd imagine.

Quite a few million get their eyes on a copy of the sun, whether they all read it is another matter entirely!

Well, I don't read any 'newspapers' and I am sure there are millions more just like me, oh and I am one of those that just watch the show I don't care about the stuff that happens behind the scenes.

All I care about is that the show is good quality, and when they air.
