Good article, cheers!

Couple of interesting comments from RTD...

First - "I think it's hard to revert to the previous format having done this, but if BBC1 says, "We want to do 13 weeks like before," of course we're going to do 13 weeks. We can do all sorts of things."

Oh dear, sounds like 13 episode seasons for Torchwood may now be a distant memory!

Unless they up it to two five-parters a year, I'm going to have serious withdrawl issues.

Interesting comment he makes shortly after though - "The six-part weekly thriller is another standard British format that we haven't tried yet."

Who'd have thunk it - Torchwood could go off down the old Who route of a weekly serial with cliff-hangers!

Wait till you see David Tennant in his last episode, and John Barrowman in his last episode of "Children of Earth."

Does this mean John is leaving torchwood or just how he acts in the last episode of COE

I read that and wondered if that bit would be picked up on -I think he's just saying John's very good in the last episode of CoE ...the confusion is with the "his" ..makes it look like the show is continuing but JB is leaving ... his last episode.

I doubt JB is leaving though we would have had some sort of word by now if he was surely ..

Aye your right if he where leaving we probs would have heard some thing.

Also, they can't actually kill off Jack, he's practically immortal, since his body simply regenerates itself when he dies. So I think if John leaves, TW would have to axed.

He wouldn't have to be killed off to be written out of the series.

The Rift could send him 200,000 years into the future or he could be kidnapped by Sontarans and taken to Sontar, lots of ways to write him out without killing him and the series could carry on.

With only two cast members? Don't think so. Even if Jack does leave, they'd need to first replace Owen and Tosh.

why does that sound familiar?
Isn't that what happened to him in 'Turn Left'?

Yep, which is why I put it as a possible way to write Jack out of the series with out killing him as it's already been done in an Altverse.

I wasn't talking about other cast members, obviously there would be replacements to keep the team numbers up (we're bound to get them anyway even if no more of the current cast leave, if not in series 3 then in series 4). What I was pointing out was that Jack would not need to be killed to be written out which you were saying was the only way.
