God no, I had a salad. Not one thing on the plate had been cooked. Cooking in this heat is a recipe for heatstroke.

Is it some sort of code or euphemism for a spit roast?

Only problem is your house ends up pushing 90 degrees. I did one yesterday and I think I lost aboout half a stone cooking it.

I love Borscht. My grandmother had a secret recipe from a russian friend. She put vodka in hers.

S'ok, I wasn't really looking forward to anyway. I would have much prefered a nice, big bar of Dairy Milk chocolate.

I've got the door open and am sat in the kitchen, it's quite nice and cool, though do need to put the veg on so will heat up a little bit.

Nope there's absolute no point at all - just one of those random threads and see what everyone else is having.

Hmmm A321 your's sounds yummy.

A local pub had a bit of a "do" on a few weeks ago, and they'd laid on a big hog roast in the garden.

After returning from the boy's room, one of two delightful ladies stopped me and asked, "excuse me, have you tried the hog roast yet?"
Before I could come up with a suitably witty reply, she blurted out, "because my mate wants stuffing!"

I'm rarely lost for words. I wouldn't mind, but she looked a bit like Gordon Brown.

sainsbury braising steak
2 onions
3 or 4 carrots
beef stock (make your own although knorr is quite good. the jelly one, not the cubes)
mushrooms
tomatoes (fresh and paste)

fry off the steak and onions in a bit of flour and butter and get them nice and brown. this all adds to the flavour. if you want you can fry off the carrots also. pour about a litre of stock in and give it a good stir. add the carrots and paste and later on, the mushrooms and tomatoes. either put in the stove on low or on a low hob for at least 2-3 hours stirring occasionally. check the seasoning and you're done. garlic, wine and a bit of cream can all be added if you wish.
