Chicken - In foil or not?

Hiya
I'm a bit of a moron when it comes to cooking food so I apologise if this is a really obvious question...
I've just put a piece of chicken in to cook, it says on the pack cook from frozen for 35-40 minutes... I've done like a pesto crust thing on it, and wrapped it in foil.
Does this do anything to the cooking time?

I think you will just have to try it and see. I would be worried about the crust overcooking or even burning before the chicken is cooked. I may have been best to defrost it first.

I guess you'll find out though

the foil will protect the crust while allowing the heat to penetrate.

rule of thumb though it is always best to cook it defrosted.

Well I did it... it cooked for about 45 minutes coz it was just a tiny bit pink in the middle at first... It was actually really nice! The topping didnt burn, it sort of caramelised slightly, but it was really nice!
