Here's the Round Twenty Three Question:-

It's another of those "cross-over" questions. The 2009 episodes of Torchwood have been a great success so the BBC have decided to do the same thing in 2010, only this time there will be two stories, each running across five nights. They will be shown at different times of the year.

For the first set of episodes the Production Team are looking at using something from New Who to appear in all five episodes. This can be an enemy / adversary or a "goodie" that will assist the Torchwood team with their problem. Incarnations of The Doctor are not allowed nor are any of the Classic or New series companions. Your choice may be something / someone that Captain Jack has encountered before or not. The choice is up to you.

So, who's transferring across from New Who to Torchwood for a while? Have you got any storyline scenarios planned out for them?

Anyway, on with the game......

As with the last round you need to select which TWO of the characters listed below you like the least and submit your choices via PM. The character with the most votes will be evicted from the game.

No votes will be accepted after the deadline

Season Three:

01) Human Nature / The Family Of Blood: The Family Of Blood
02) Blink: The Weeping Angels
03) Utopia: The Master (Derek Jacobi)
04) The Sound Of Drums / Last Of The Timelords: Harold Saxon / The Master (John Simm)

Season Four:

05) Midnight: The possessed Sky Silvestry (Lesley Sharp)
06) The Stolen Earth / Journey's End: Davros (Julian Bleach)

Voting closes at 8pm on Thursday July 2nd.

Jamie from the Empty Child. Now in his mid 70s he finds he can never be hurt or injured due to the effects of the tula ambulance and some mad scientist wants to experiment on him. Can't think of much more than that, but I do think there was some unfinished business from the EC/DD regarding the nano technology and I think its effects could be explored more.

so my votes are the same as before, RK....bit surprised by this result. Thought it would be Sky who went this time, tbh.

Same again for me please RK.

Mmm, now for the question. After long consultation with the tiglets we would bring back Sally Sparrow and Jenny the Doctor's Daughter to work with Torchwood in preventing an alien invasion.

No idea about a story yet, but we are working on it.

Clive's (from "Rose") son could turn up. Having previously scorned his father's obsession with the Doctor, after his father's death he could have begun researching alien activity and runs into Torchwood when they are both investigating something... maybe another Auton invasion?

Nah, sounds too similar to other stuff. I think I'd be a very bad TV writer.

Nooooooo! Sky should either win or come in the top 3 at least. I found that the most menacing performance, even if not necessarily a true "villain". And as for the acting, I think that trumps everything else on the list. No makeup, no SFX, no weapons, pure performance & a simple but incredibly effective idea - awesome!

In answer to the question, I think the Face of Boe should show up....

Although, more realistically, I'd like to see the Master, even if I wasn't completely happy with the Simm portrayal.

Capt Magambo and Malcolm from Planet Of The Dead

If we can also have a crossover going the other way how about Billis Manger turning up in an episode of Doctor Who??

To some extent, doesn't the same apply to Derek Jacobi's brief performance as the Master? TBH the game's wide open for any of the remaining characters to win I'd say ......

Yes. I think considering how little time he had as "the Master" (a minute or two), I think he made an enormous impact. So much so that it actually "dented" Simm's portrayal for me as I really hungered to see more of Jacobi and his type of fury. But considering Sky's "villain" consisted only of repeating other characters lines, I think the performance was incredibly effective and genuinely menacing. Kudos too to DT for helping that build.

Jacobi's portrayal of the Master was very effective, particularly the contrast with Yana's personality. It's a shame we didn't see much of him, but I suppose that might have detracted from the impact he had. Simm's nutty Master was effective in a very different way, but sort of makes sense- from his perspective he's been locked away for a whole (human) lifetime behind a fake personality he doesn't think much of, and returns to find the only other member of his species remaining is his enemy. Not surprising post-regeneration he's crazy and so energetic- it's as far as possible from being old and slow, which is how he sees himself compared to the Doctor when he returns from the fob watch.

I think either Master would be a better winner than Sky (though personally I'd rather see one of the others win)- Sky was very well played and the way the dialogue was done was really effective, but I think the other people were more of a threat in that episode than she was, albeit only in how they responded to her.

Same votes as last time for me please RK!
