Reccommend me some music..
Hi ppl,
I like Oasis, Nirvana, Prodigy, Maximo Park, Furtureheads, Killers, Coldplay, and The Enemy and Kasabian to an extent. Based on these can anyone give me some tips on some new bands to try...I'm not the most experienced in terms of trying a wide selection of music. Also, I'd like some tips on some really good new bands that are similar to those listed above. Thanks SG |

The Libertines - You may have heard of the frontman but they are one of the best British bands of the decade.
Ride -Early 1990s band, featuring a young Andy Bell from Oasis. |

If you have itunes you could use genius to find things you might like. I like almost exactly the same stuff as you but I also like The Smiths and The Cure.

Paramore (I wouldn't say that they've had commerical success, in terms of airplay/charts, but they are amazing. Hayley Williams has such an amazing voice.) Their most recent song was for Twilight, a song called Decode
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB1sdsKZUeo - "That's What You Get" taken from the album RIOT! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V12bP...eature=related - Most recent recording of "Decode". Acoustic at an US radio station. I love this version. Hope this helps.

Good shout on Travis. I'd go for Singles or A Man Who.
I'd also recommend The Verve, and if you are feeling adventurous some of their early stuff. It's quite trancey and psychadelic and might take some time to get into but it's good stuff. Primal Scream can also recommend and The Chemical Brothers might surprise you. But if you give the Doves a try you will not be sorry. Mixes best going on bands you say you like! |

Early Rolling Stones and the Who. Maybe give The Beatles a chance? Kurt Cobain like there recording ways or something
Talking of Kurt, how about The Velvet Underground? Nirvana did a good cover of Here She Comes Now! You gotta give The Velvet Underground and Nico a listen, don't just think old = shite. They are on Spotify as well

Ted Leo and The Pharmacists.
One of the best bands no one has heard of and pretty much everyone I've recommended them to has liked them, especially their Shake The Sheets album. |
