I am using the SCART RGB out from my Pace digital cable STB. This works OK when the STB is plugged directly into the TV (Panasonic 32PK2). However, I have to connect the STB output via my DVD player as I only have 1 RGB SCART on the TV (STB->DVD->TV).

Again this is OK, except that when I press TV/AV to switch from the SCART back to 'normal' TV, I get the TV sound but the video is still from the STB - and it appears slightly out of sync (drifts slowly across & down the screen).

With the DVD as the source, there is no problem - so I'm guessing that the DVD is messing up the auto switching signal from the STB en route to the TV. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Have you tried connecting DVD>STB>TV instead.

And how is your VCR connected?

Thanks for the post. When I sat and thought about this I realised what the problem could be. When I connected the STB directly to the TV I used the SCART cable from the DVD player. This worked OK. However, when it was connected to the DVD player, I was using the cable provided by NTL. On closer inspection I realised this was not a fully wired cable - hence the problem. Replacing the cable with one of my own cured the problem.

Why do NTL provide a box with RGB o/p and a cable which doesn't have all the requisite connections?

I was left with 2 cables when I got my ntl box. The one I'm using is fully wired, not sure on the other. I use a switcher box for anything rgb as some other devices (vcr, dvd, other stb) don't provide rgb pass through. It is a minor inconvience to get up and have to flick the switch when I need to use one of the other rgb signals, but I've got used to it now.
