Is this a new bug.
I am trying to record on BBC 2 Scotland, my default BBC 2 nation.
Everytime I ask to record BBC2's programmes it suggests I record BBC2 Eng, and not my correct region, infact it won't let me record my own regions programme ar all.
I then have to select the alternative english programme and then go back into guide, select bbc2 scotland programme, and it gives me the option to cancel BBC2 eng's programme.
Odd?

Strange - what happens if you reserve the programme using channel 970 in the epg rather than 102 ?

I just set a reservation for Animal Park Channel 970 no problem.
A factory reset might help

will that knockout my recordings and schedule recordings?

plus I've already done 1 because of lockups is this a dodgy box? exchange it at argos?

It won't affect your existing recordings but will delete your recording schedule and any non-freesat channels, plus any settings yoi have changed from defaults. If it keeps on locking up then yes exchange it.

I just get this regional issue now, locking up once a day. the factory reset channged nothing, the regional issue still there.

Is it a s/w issue?

Locking up once a day is certainly not normal. Mine has locked up once since last November, requiring only a power cycle to fix, so sounds like a hardware fault at least. Interesting problem though, you could see if an English postcode gives you problems as well. If you fancy trying this use EX2 2JN which will give the best ITV 1 pictures at 103.

Very odd, and I've read most of the posts on this forum. Just checking, but you have used your EHx postcode? I'm just over the water from you in Fife with a KYx postcode, and have never been offered anything other than the BBC1/2 Scotland programmes.

In the past I used an English postcode then edited customisable channels to get BBC1/2 Scotland. This is because STV (the Scottish version of ITV) does not do HD. However, then I found channel 977 (ITV1 London), so have reverted to my "correct" postcode, and can still get the ITV HD (missed episode 1 of Trevor McDs Caribbean in HD, but have the rest on schedule).

I'd check the postcode and the settings of your customisable channels just to make sure they are as you would expect. Other than that, it's time to make a note of all recording in your schedule, do a factory reset, reset you configuration and try again. If it still is not picking up Scottish TV stations with an Edinburgh postcode, 'borrow' a Fife one (KY11 1PA is valid). If still no luck get your box swapped (especially if experiencing lock-ups - I've never had one in over 6 months). Just changing postcodes will wipe all your future schedules, but won't affect any other settings (unlike the factory reset). None of them will affect your recordings, but you probably know that already.

hmm, it occurs when you have a number of series links with BBC 2 Scotland, it could just be my postcode too EH6 7DL. So I've now got my old Fife postcode in and no problem.


Freesat database isssue. I have my regions set to the freesat default, no one will take away ma' scottish tv
