Quick Stir Fry Sauce?
Shirt Slicer

Anyone have a quick recipe for stir fry sauce that doesn't involve some kind of drink? I have soy sauce, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, but no alcohol, which all the recipes seem to be telling me to add.

I'd add all of the above with some tomato puree or ketchup or brown sauce or honey and a little boiling water. Frankly, most sauces you find in your cupoboard or fridge work nicely in a stir fry. I've ever used alchohol in a stir-fry in my life.

With the ingredients you have add a tablespoon of coke if you have it, it adds caramel and acidity tastes.

But "cook" the sauce first before adding to the food items

The only alcohol I can think of off the top of my head would be sherry which is a substitute for sichuan rice wine. Other than that i've never used any alcohol in a stirfry sauce.

I didn't have anything in to make a stir fry sauce last week so I added a couple of tablespoons of reggae reggae sauce - it was very nice! Might do that again tonight!!

If you marinade whatever meat/fish you plan to stir fry in those ingredients and add a couple of tablespoons of water once you are frying you will have a perfectly good sauce.
