Freezing homemade chips from fresh potatoes

Forgive me,this is a guy asking the question, the answer may seem obvious to females or cooks out there

If I peel potatoes and make them into chips can I then freeze them straight away to be used later.

Or will the freeze make them go black

I will be cooking them in a deep fat fryer when used

thanks

I don't know. Never tried. What I would ask is why?
Fresh spuds. Peel, cook. Simples.

I made a pile for the kids and a gang of friends tea, they were having a paddling pool part (wifes away) so I am the chef and the deep fat fryer blew up , so I thought freeze em or chuck them

I have put them in the freezer if anyone thinks its a bad idea to cook them from frozen for Thursdays tea, feel free to say so

I think they have to be blanched (Google it) before you can freeze them?. The O/H says they should be.

blanch for 5 mins, dry, then freeze (or cook!).

I'd be interested to know how they freeze. Unless you take them out and shake them every 15 minutes then wouldn't you just end up with one big block of chips?
