I've also had failed EPG downloads the last 2 nights (guide to 3/8 only), however I have not had any YLD or other issues.

I've had no front panel lights in the morning for the last two nights, requiring a reboot. I checked this morning and found that the EPG was two days short. The logs for the last two nights are 95 pages long, but most of that is just messages reporting failure to tune to the "data pipe service". The download eventually seems to start normally, but finally times out at 04:00.

Grumpiness from Sandy Heath transmitter for the last two nights also.

I've had the same thing the last 2 nights as well.

Came down in the morning to find box had hung with no lights on.Remote light would come on though.

Looks like I'll have to put a mains timer in place to reboot all my stuff daily whilst i'm on holiday.

Might be alright tomorrow morning though.

May still do it anyway since my Sky HD box is worse than the DHD,it likes regular power cycles.

I've had this the last two mornings (no power LED lit and power cycle restores). I'd changed the HDD last couple days and put it down to that. Looks like it might not be my hardware which is a little relief, I though the caps had gone again or the thing was on its way out!

The first night, I dismissed as a glitch. The second, I started to suspect hardware, but thought it a bit odd as my machine is normally rock solid (it has 2 PSUs, and crashes about once a year). That's when I thought I'd better do a search...

I've just tried phoning Inview. It rang for a long time and then I was diverted to an answerphone machine, although according to the recorded message they should have been 'open'. I've left a message though about the EPG downlaod problems.

I wonder if they are getting swamped with lots of complaints now and their switchboard couldn't cope?

Also, does anyone know if/when the Inview EPG will include the 301/302 listings that are carried by the 'standard' Freeview 7-day EPG?

Phew!! I've only had the DHD4000 back in action for a fortnight after a PSU repair, so to come down this morning and find no lights on I just assumed the repair was faulty.

Turns out not to be the case - I can report same experience as others, no light on on DHD4000 this morning, quick power-cycle fixed it.

Log showed the usual 90+ pages, on which the penultimate page was logged as 4.00am and the final page 7.35am (which was the time I rebooted the machine).

No such problems yesterday or day before (at least, none that SWMBO informed me of).

On Winter Hill here.

I've had prolonged YLD 3 times this week, last one 30 minutes ago. Via sutton Coldfield. Mains recycle cures. Yesterday's log shows epg file download shut down early. (this last could be error on my timer switch tho')

Does anyone know who profits by providing this excellent epg service & how does it earn its keep?

Will it be worth their while to fix it?
Thanks in advance....

I would be a little more reassured if Inview had also post here. Hopefully the work they are putting in to correct the problems relating to Digifusion boxes, also include our problems.

The describes exactly what happened to me too.

having the same problem, what's the issue, can't really be bothered to read the digifusion thread!

Slight improvement this morning, at least the box hadn't crashed, but still no new EPG data.

Edit: Just read the Digifusion thread and seen the Inview post saying that downloads have been suspended for a few days to avoid the crashes while they sort the problem.

Recommissioned my DHD4000 yesterday - intending to use it as a "portable" device when we go away. Left switched on and tuned in overnight, no EPG, found this thread when I did some digging. Whatever the problem is, it hasn't been sorted.

Edit: Just spotted the edit above!

I've been getting the same lack of EPG updates, YLD and so on and can absolutely tell you it's not the DHD4000.

I know, because I've got a second one and it did the exact same thing last night as my main one.

It sounds to me, like this type of EPG isn't used by any currently manufactured DVRs, so support is going away. A great shame, as I don't want to be forced to buy another DVR just because of this when my two work well enough - annoying bugs aside.

I guess I can always set the recordings manually, but that really sucks.

There's another thread going in the Fusion forum - the EPG suppliers are aware of the crashing issue and had suspended sending an EPG over the weekend until they've resolved what the issue is.

Hi all

I just posted this on the Digifusion thread as well, so apologies for the cross-post.

Good news - we have located and resolved the fault and have reinstated the broadcast for tonight, so your boxes should update their EPGs at 3am as usual.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, and apologies again for the inconvenience.

True to their word, my DHD now has the EPG

Mine too.

However, I still have a huge Log file (88 pages) of which Pages 2 - 77 read "OADS: Failed to tune to Data Pipe Service".

I am sure that a while ago (maybe many months) it used to have a total of about 15 pages.

Anyway, it is a great relief to have the EPG back, well done Inview.

Suggestion to Inview:

From now on, keep a daily watch on the forum and if there are any future problems you should be alerted to them much quicker than if you rely on phone calls.
