Dog Sickness

We have an 7 month old female collie/staff cross, she woke up this morning and vomited on the living room floor, no big deal, she has since been vomming all day and night (say every hour and a half) she hasn't gone near her food or water.

She seems to be vomming a lightish brown liquid ?

Just wondered if anybody had any experience, do we need to worry ?

collies have sensitive stomachs, she may have inherited this, the slightest thing can tip them off, our pure boy was streaming from both ends when he was 7 months due to a food change.

if it's as frequent as this however, i would take her to the vet ASAP, especially if she's not eating or drinking, there is a definite problem if that's happening and sorry to say, but you should worry.

Hi the_daddy, I agree with xdow, I think that you need to get your pooch to see a vet asap.

A dog off it's food is not normal (knowing that most dogs of any breed will "hoover-up" any food available), and the vomit colour that you describe could be a symptom of many things (or not) - do get her checked out, it's always better to be safe than sorry x .

Normally with a vomiting dog I would fast for 24 hours then introduce chicken and rice. Vet only if no improvement or if lethargic and/or refusing water.

HOWEVER, given the age of the pup and the refusal of water - especially in this weather - I would go to a vet ASAP because of the risk of dehydration.

I agree with the others. Not eating is a little worrying but if she's not drinking anything and throwing up she needs to see a vet before she gets dehydrated. Hope she feels better soon.
