HXD890 set up queries
I have just set up my new Sony HXD890. It's working OK but I have a couple of queries which I could not find answers for in the manual.
I should say that my main PVR for the last 3 years has been a Humax 9200 and I guess I am used to the way that works. First query relates to the programme guide. It has populated the '' Guide (Digital) '' immediately but it is a basic EPG & nowhere as user friendly as the equivalent Humax. I have selected the ''Guide Plus'' option but it will take a while to populate (overnight) I guess. I have no experience with either of these EPG's so is the Guide plus option the better choice ? Secondly, with the Humax I can set up favourite channels and also delete unwanted channels. I can't seem to find either option in the menu. Any help will be appreciated. |

As Nigel says,if you haven't any additional equipment connected e.g Sky digibox,Cable stb, then select the digital epg.
You can't delete channels nor can you set favourites. What you can do,is select channels to be skipped instead,it is under the digital tuner>channel options menu. |

Guys
Thanks for the feedback. I have been elsewhere for the last 4 weeks so unable to thank you before now. I have successfully used the skip channels feature as advised. And yes, the inability to record 2 programmes at once is a drawback. I still have my Humax in the bedroom. I really wanted the Sony to be able to copy recordings to DVD as I travel a lot. |
