I dunno about that, it's peeing me off the way it is being reported that MJ got the most viewers, when that is only the case if you use a rather dodgy method of calculating the results.

Sky seems to have hammered most sci-fi into a digital ghetto.

Back on topic, I have complained to MediaGuardian about their downplaying of Torchwood's ratings success yesterday.

Apparently, CSI lost over a million viewers last night on five in the same hour.

yeah, last week they won their time slot comfortabley.

i think the problem that csi has is that it's the kind of programme people watch when nothing else is on, so it does well when their is little competition, less well when something interesting is on.

Very nice. Beat BB's AI of 75 (which these days has an audience made up mostly of fans so you'd think it would be higher).

Series 1 average (not exact) = 1.33
Series 2 average = 3.26 (increase of 1.93 million / 145%)
Series 3 average (so far) = 5.74 (increase of 176%)

Total increase since series 1 = 431% / 4.41 million

Good and well-deserved numbers so far. I hope it holds up thorough the week.

Is there any known 'threat' that'd take a lot of viewers away for a day, which might have a knock-on effect?

not really. There is live eviction in BB on friday, but thats not a huge threat these days. I belive ITV have a third time around repeat of Doc Martin the same day.

eta: there is a decent lead in to TW the rest of the week, Celeb Master Chef is reaching it's final stages, which should help.

eta again: there is a Trial and Retrobution repeat on ITV tonight and tomorrow.

Interesting that thye have largley scheduled repeats up against TW..I think effectively they have conceeded the time slot this week.

Peter Capaldi is on the One Show and The Huffington Post (US news site and the most powerful blog in the world) is describing this series as the current best bet and television event of the summer :

that is stunning news for TW prospects in America....

Of course, it's only shown on BBC America (which isn't a main stream station), but even so, and endorsement like that from the Huffington Post will add to the viewing figures no doubt.

I have been determined to put TW at the top of twitter trending topics, but I don't think it can beat MJ

Basically twitter scans to see which non-dictionary words or terms are being used on twitter.
