does anyone know if the latest series will be repeated for kids (edited with the naughty bits cut out)
The BBC did this for the last series and my chidren were allowed to watch it. They would so love to see the latest series but the DVD is rated 15.

Suppose they could edit it for kiddies but I don't think it's the target market this time. Plus the fact that I suspect it's probably going to get quite scary as it continues.

Child friendly versions of the show do bring up the question - yet again! on just exactly how adult is Torchwood?

As the Guardian critic implies, it's a family show masquerading as an adult one. Even if it gets scarier you sense that it will off Dr Who kiddie shocks rather than adult shocks like classic horror TV series such as Salem's Lot or even the creepy Day of the Triffids.

I am sure that I have heard it quoted somewhere that this series will NOT have such a repeat.

I believe tonight's second part contains some rather gruesome moments so definitely not for the kids...

The first episode of the 2nd series that was cut for the kids and shown at 7pm, also had the blowfish having his head blown off

The half-naked grapple between Jack and Ianto in "Adrift" also survived the edit.

I think it was probably just the 'language' that was dropped for the 7pm slot.

Yep but according to the preview this is the most gruesome thing they've ever shown - I suspect something to do with Jack's predicament!

The word used on DS is "disgusting" so the kids will love it!

Spoiler
We see Jack as a skinless, red and burnt corpse.

I'd just let 'em watch it, it wasn't THAT bad was it? I was watching Robocop and the Nightmare on Elm Street movies aged 11 and it didn't do me any harm.

NB: The bbfc advice for episode 5 is 15 for "moderate bloody violence, threat and distressing scenes". I'd assume you couldn't edit the 'distressing scenes' part anyway, so no kids edit.

They had the shooting, but cut out his blood landing on the wall behind him IIRC
