While the HDR has a few quirky things that we all hope will be sorted soon I find that most of the problems I get are with the ITV HD red button, plus the will it be or will it not be in HD, and this has nothing to do with Humax.

When recording BBC HD I have had 99% success rate in 7 months with the box doing and working as it should, however you cannot say the same for recording anything on ITV HD for which I manually record using my Technomate because of the unreliable red button service, even then it does not stop me getting 2 hours of “this service is unavailable” when ITV change their mind about showing a film in HD.

Touchwood, same here. Only thing crashed on me once when editing channels, but apart from that, works a treat.

Maybe I'll like the new features.

But quite frankly, all I want is for a couple of bugs to be fixed, and either a way to delete folders with fewer button presses, or the ability to not automatically create folders for series links (or both!).

I don't see why Humax should be making us wait this long to sort out a couple of smaller, but very irritating issues.

Thats all I want too, the bugs to be fixed.

Games companies can release patches in weeks that work on thousands of different machines. Here we have a company that cant release bug fixes for a single configuration machine. Its abysmal.

It better be a perfect update after all this waiting!

Very unlikely as they refuse to even consider beta testing.

My guess is that it will introduce a whole batch of new trivial problems.

I'm becoming even more convinced that they only have a trainee working on it when s/he hasn't got anything else to do.

Humax's reputation as a company that are good post sales has gone completely down the pan with this product.

All the annoyances should have been fixed within a couple of weeks as well as repeatable bugs. Even if there was just one guy working on it.

I agree and think the update has been so long coming, it will annoy everyone as their grievances will not have been fixed.

Only a complete OS redesign would be a good reason for it taking so long.

That sounds about right. I am hoping for a complete UI redesign - but am not holding my breath - what you suggest would be a reason for why they haven't made an interim release available, even if only from their web site.

I doubt change the ui, bob_cat would be hinting more I think. Plus the expense of changing of the manuals may prohibit it.
