When i drink Jim Beam black it feels like iam drinking Poison because its soo strong;thats from only drinking a shot; i can drink JD and other whisky and more of it and it does not feel like drinking strong Poison; Jim is 43%' JD is 40% why does that 3% feel soo much stronger?

Does it feel like drinking Poison when you drink Jim Beam?do you mix it? What do they put in it?

I can drink a lot of JD and well used to it that its strong' Jim beam i have not got used to it; it realy burns you.

If you think Jim Beam is bad try Wild Turkey

There are some excellent cask strength single malts about, at around 60%. Well worth a try.

It's the drink of kings!

No mixer, no ice. Just as is!

In fact.... I might have to purchase me a bottle on the way home now!

LP - surely you've made a mistake. Where's the obligatory "Here's a crap video of me with my insane Norman Bates-like eyes and my girly pony-tail on youtube drinking Jim Beam and talking bollox. Coo...."?

It has a smoky odour and slightly burnt taste. It's quite a versatile drink and can be enjoyed in the garden!!

I think JD has a better taste than Jim Beam; JD has maple in it; Jim Beam has not; do you think that's why JD tastes better?

A friend of mine and I are complete opposites on this.

I am a Jim Beam man - not a fan of JD at all, unless I can't find anything else for breakfast.

But he can't stand Jim Beam and will only have JD.

Personal taste tis all.

Glad someone else drinks it like that! The barman always tries to put ice in it when I order it, even if I ask for no ice.

Yeah they do that with me as well ..... and give me such a funny look when I point out that I want no ice and no mixer!

Jameson is my favorite whiskey, unlike jacks and all those other crappy American whiskies, they taste nice, and its not a chore to drink.

WT on it's own
JB with soda or ginger
JD with coke to mask the taste

No ice in the Turkey, but in weather like this I do put the bottle in the fridge

Assuming that as it's been mentioned several times already in the thread, it's Wild Turkey
