I am so looking forward to tonight's episode... I have just iplayered last nights as I was out and I am so geared up to another hour... The BBC have really spoilt us with a whole weeks worth of thrilling TV.
TW has really shown what a good sci-fi does, well done thus far to RTD and Co for this story... cannot wait for the conclusion... but that it's close to the end!

well that is a promising sign, if we actually needed one after the brilliance of the first three parts...

Well I'm supposed to be completing a course profile for work before TW starts but couldn't resist a look in here! Do you think my students will notice if an their Managing Projects course has an alien theme?
This has been a fantastic series so far and I've loved it even more than DW (sssshhh don't tell my son) but what will we all do after Friday?

I can't remember when our family last settled down daily, every evening from Monday to Friday at 9pm to 10 pm
to watch a tv programme

Bring it on, hope it is a good one like day 2,as it is the same writer ?

I was going to start a thread some hours ago, but was wondering if I'd make some formatting mistake or summat.

Have never watched Torchwood and only ever 1 Doctor Who.

But now cant wait to try Who again and for the rest of the Tourchwood story.

Just one question have the other Torchwood's been like this, one long story over a few weeks or stand alone stories?

Thanks if anyone can answer.

The first and second series are mainly stand alone episodes, (both series consisting of 13 episodes) however ususally the last 2 or 3 episodes are one bigger storyline

26 seperate stories, 13 in each series.

First series was a bit naff (watchable though) but second series was great, especially the final 5 episodes or so in which it came into it's own.

Doctor Who there's 56 episodes of around 40% of which are two parters.

no, the first two series were 13 episodes long, with one episode per week, with eaxh episode being a self-contained story with some common themes running through them.

actually for a long time the change in format for this series was quite a source of annoyance, but I think most people have warmed to it, though I suspect we'd like more than one five part story if W returns next year...

Definitely. Series one of Torchwood is weaker than two, which I think is the general opinion, however you will still love series 1, I think both series are great! Enjoy watching them!

there are still enough gems in series 1 to make it worth watching, even if series 2 is overall better. In fact my favorite episodes of series 1 and 2 are both from series 1 ('small worlds' and 'CJH')
