It will work but not as well as if you had two cables. We've got a humax freeview box, 9200T, and it works fairly well but has no HD. There should be HD freeview boxes coming out shortly when terrestrial HD starts so it might be worth holding on before going down that route. I only learned about these things the other day but there is something called a stacker/destacker that overcomes the single cable problem for Sky+ and Freesat+.

With the latest EPG Sky+ HD boxes now support single cable operation, albeit with limitations, so if you do want to go the Sky route it's possible. I think the Humax Foxsat is a bit better at single cable operation so if all you want is the Freesat lineup the Humax is probably a better choice.

See post which is currently only just down the page from this one http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1064746 describing the channels which can be recorded and watched concurrently with a single cable.
