I think you're right that millions will still watch Buddy, but there will inevitably be a fair section of the audience watching Alesha like Brutus watching Caesar...Just itching to put the knife in. I just hope it doesn't get too personal

Oh well, you won't be in the trenches alone if it does all get personal Buddy
I might even get a mention in despatches as the Camilla fan who gave his DS membership fighting for Alesha...Who'd have thought it, eh?

Just in case you are reading this Alesha we are not blaming you at all for this fiasco
The people who are to blame are Jay Hunt, and the people who decided to use Alesha in the wrong role Strictly is not a FOCUS group- and Jay Hunt and her cronies need to remember that what they may gain in younger viewers they are running a massive risk of losing an established audience There is still time for common sense to prevail- maybe use Alesha in a roving mentors role on ITT - that is what she would be best at. And bring an experienced pro dancer on to the panel- as they would be better qualified to judge. There are plenty of pro dancers on Strictly who choroegraph to a strong performance level The fallout from this could wreck Strictly- and it will all be Jay Hunt's and her cronies fault for ruining the show Alesha you are not to blame at all- the anger on here is not directed at you at all but the middle management idiots who have tinkered repeatedly with the format |

Speak for yourself, OP, Alesha has a LOT to blame for. She could have just realised that the whole thing is ridiculous and said NO.
I'm debating whether to boycott the show or just FF when she is on. But if i watch the show and ratings stay the same they won't realise how p*ssed off we are. |

I think Alesha is to blame for Swine Flu and England being rubbish at cricket.
(Sorry, just joining in the proposterousness of this thread) Would it be asking too much of certain people to show a bit of sensibility and at least wait for the show to start before getting hysterical? Probably |

Probably Obviously Alesha is responsible for the recession at the moment and the expenses row gone by! ![]() And for the bolded part, it is too much to ask! We have to judge before the show has been aired because it is absolute fact that Alesha will be rubbish and ruin the show! I mean haven't seen her judge yet but still... I'm not saying that Alesha's appointment was wise but you never know she might actually be, just wait for it, good. Now isn't that shocking!

Just because people have different views from you, it doesn't make them proposterous or hysterical. I still respect the views of those who want Alesha on the judges panel even though I believe that her experience means that she's unsuitable for the job and that she would be much better suited to replacing Tess.
I was commenting on the posters who appear to think that Strictly is ruined (before they've even seen Season 7) and that Alesha is lying in bed at night regretting her decision and worrying about Strictly fans. |

No amount of watching Alesha on the show will magically give her the credentials we think she needs. You can prejudge that because that won't change between now and then.

Not at all - but whilst not blaming Alesha, some of us think she is ill qualified to judge dance and had the temerity to say so.
Now isn't that shocking! |

It's the Doctor Who sub-forum in Cult when Catherine Tate was announced as the new companion. That was outrage, doom, the show is ruined forever, Russell T Davis doesn't know what he's doing, She a comedienne not an actress, I'm never watching again etc etc. Now she's universally seen as an excellent companion and many prefer her to Billie Piper. |

Completely agree VL. I respect everyone's point of view. This is a discussion forum after all.

Alesha is a singer who will be expected to give a critique on the dancing performance of the celebs and the choreography and teaching skills of professional dancers, all of whom have spent years learning their craft and some of whom have won worldwide recognition. |

Some of us think she is ill qualified yet are waiting to see before we judge. I don't think anyone is saying that it was a great decision on the BBC's part but I for one am willing to give it a chance.
