Sorry, youve got two Hopes, Bob and No.. The only way you will be able to get Live Aid on DVD is to search EBay for "non official" versions. Too many conflicting record companies, TV rights and arguements over where the proceedings will go has stopped any sort of official release. The likelyhood of it happening in the future is less likely than Eddie Van Halen knocking on my door and giving me guitar lessons..

you tease, you...
![]() i've always thought this would have been great as a video, or now dvd - if not the whole thing, then certainly extended highlights - and really would have been another great moneyspinner for the cause into the bargain. its a real shame that the whole issue became so complex at the expense of that tho'. Can anyone give some sensible advice on how long vhs tapes last?. I would'nt want to lose them and I still enjoy watching them, even if they are *only* in mono.

The most major factor is how many times you view the them. The most times you view you tape; the more it degrades. This is expedited with such factors such as fast forward etc. My, Back to the Future II brought in 1991 and viewed nearly everyday; was completely finished within 2 years!! And I mean really finished!! |

Well personally I'm the one who listens to them. They are a moment in history, and I'm so glad I recorded them. Even in mono.

(I think I'll go and tell the national music archive to destroy all their old classical music recordings, because they are'nt in stereo )

[expletive deleted]
I was wondering what rules I broke to have my message deleted, along with some other people's, in this thread? Someone else - a Spammer, since it was their first and only message - had posted an advertisement for their unofficial DVD of Live Aid, then around Wednesday 3rd March I posted this link: Quote:
What happened after that I don't know, since I didn't look at the thread, but the messages have been deleted without any reason or notification given.I can understand why Spam should be deleted, but my message was on-topic and added something important to the thread. I admit that sticking your tongue out at the arrested, and calling Busted a band when they're technically a group, were fairly controversial things to do; But I'd rather have been told - either in the thread or by PM/email - why the message was deleted, rather than the mods getting rid of it it and hoping no one would notice. Or what I'd really have liked would to not have been censored like this... But I don't expect that from DigitalSpy. |
