On line ticket companys
A friend of mine paid nearly £200 (over double face value) for tickets for tonights Oasis concert at Wembley from getmein.com and after numerous phone calls and promises that they were in the post, still hasn't got any tickets.
He has been looking forward to this event for ages and has decided to still go in the hopes that they can get tickets at the gig (good luck to him) I was wondering if anyone else has had this kind of problem with online ticket companys? particually getmein.com, or as we now call them "dontgetmein.com" |

I thought getmein was reputable, arent they supposed to be a sister site of ticketmaster? I know they charge over the top prices but I thought they were legit???
And I really feel sorry for your friend, I hope he gets to go to the show. Why did he buy from that site?? tickets are still available from ticketmaster and seetickets for wembley. |

I don't know why he didn't use ticket master, but he did know that they are affiliated with ticket master when he used them, as you say he/we thought that they are reputable company too but obviosly not, when he spoke to them on Thursday they gave him the impression that they were waiting for the tickets themselves, I'm not sure if this is standard practice for ticket companys but surely they shouldn't be taking money for tickets that they don't even have.

To be honest I don't think they're any better than buying a ticket from Ebay. I know they are part of Ticketmaster but at the end of the day you're still buying your ticket from a tout. If you read the small print theres probably something telling you they can't guarantee the tickets. I made a complaint to Ticketmaster a while back cause I think their site is shocking when a high demand event goes on sale. I also pointed out that touts seem to be able to get plenty of tickets for these events but the true fans can't. The response was they don't encourage ticket touting but advised me to use getmein to get tickets

I know ticketmaster were rather slow in sending out the tickets for wembley this year. I bought mine from ticketmaster and they came last week but when I spoke to them at the begining of that week they said they were still waiting to recieve them from the promoters. There have been a few problems this year with people not recieving their tickets from ticketmaster for these wembley gigs. I think companies like see and Ticketmaster sell tickets which they dont physically have but are authorised to do it and then nearer the date the tickets get printed and then sent out. I dont know anything about getmein, but is it like a tout site like seatwave where people sell on their tickets or is it ticketmaster themselves? coz I know with ticketmaster if you dont get your tickets they can arrange a duplicate set for you to collect at the box office on the day of the concert.
Here is the link http://www.getmein.com/music.html I wouldn't recommend using them though. |

I have just had a quick look at the site as I havn't actually used it myself before, it does say "buy and sell tickets, I'm not sure if that means sell to them or sell to each other though.
Here is the link http://www.getmein.com/music.html I wouldn't recommend using them though. 19) What if there is not enough time to send me the tickets via courier? We make every effort to get your tickets delivered to you well in advance of the event. If you book your tickets the day before the concert, or if we haven't received the tickets from the distributors in time to mail them, however, we sometimes may require a venue or box office collection. Our office will contact you in advance and provide you with the contact details of our customer service specialists. Our representative will also be provided with your details and will be waiting for your call when you arrive at the venue. Is there not a provison for your friend to collect his tickets from the box office at wembley?? I think it would be too late now coz he's suppose to be going today isnt he? but maybe he could call them ask if it would be possible for him to get them at the box office??? |

Oh also, just to let you know if your friend is hoping to buy tickets at the venue, apparently there are a limited number of tickets for sale at the east ticket booth. He/she should try there first because at least they will be able to get them at face value rather than getting ripped off by the touts outside the stadium.
the details are here: http://www.oasisinet.com/NewsArticle.aspx?n=761 |

They should be able to get tickets to the Box Office if your friend contacts them now. I had a similar situation with some tickets that I had lost, and Ticketmaster got duplicates to the Arena no problem.
They may have left it a bit late though... |

I have just text him and he has got tickets from the ticket booth for £45 each. He's pleased and I'm pleased for him, I just hope Oasis don't have any of the technical problems that they have been having on this tour.
As for getmein, they can stick there tickets up there A***. Am still interested if anyone else has had similar problems though. |
