Forgotten: singers and their songs.
I've been wracking my brains trying to remember the name of an American choral group who made recordings of (I'm not sure of this) Victorian ballads, or parlour songs. Beautiful Dreamer, for example, was the sort of ballad they might have recorded, I can't say for sure. I think the group had New York in their name, something like The New York Singers or The New York Chorale.
These songs are not heard much these days, but I've been downloading songs and music that I particularly like, from You Tube, and I'd like to include these, assuming they are available on YT. If not, maybe someone knows from where else they can be downloaded, That's provided someone can solve the first part of the problem. Thanks anyway. D. |

Update on this one: The name of the singers is The New York Vocal Arts Ensemble, and one of their songs is "Listen to the Mocking Bird" . Unfortunately, searching You Tube failed to reveal any reference to the group, although an instrumental version of the song was available. Hopefully this extra info will mean something to someone and whether there is a download of the NYVAE's work. |
