New Female Acts
Dollyrockers
La Roux Pixie Spot Little Boots VV Brown Florence and the Machine Saturdays I'd also like to include Lily Allen Girls Aloud Pussycat Dolls and no doubt loads more that I've blinked and missed and loads more still coming up on the conveyor belt. Is this the 21st century equivalent of a plague of locusts? Or do you think the term only applies to X factor acts? (didn't even include them in the list as they come and go so fleetingly) |

From the list, in my opinion only Florence, and La Roux (who, sorry to be picky, are actually a band, not a solo female artist..but anway, not a huge deal
) have any talent. I can understand why La Roux are a love/hate band, as Elly's voice is rather unique, but their songs are great, and pretty refreshing considering all the X factor/pop crap we get sometimes. Florence has a wonderful voice, one of the best female vocalists in a while, I believe.

There's quite a decent write up on all these "new" female acts in one of those free mags you get with a red top. But then again as you would expect with a red top they had to let everyone know that Pixie Lott wears £350 hot pants.....yes serious journalism !

To be honest, can anything serious be written about Pixie Lott?

Far too many female singers on the conveyor belt.
Leona and Duffy already seem 'last year'. How long can the individuals sustain a career, there must come a saturation point? |

The saturation point comes when the 'public' realise they are being led by hype into buying a single or an album.
When I say public I mean morons. When I say morons I mean who the **** is buying this crap?? Of course, none of these new female acts have any discernible talent to last more than one album so new ones pop up on an almost weekly basis to take their place. Oh apart from Pixie Lott, she has a nice arse. Lady Gaga wasn't mentioned because she is asexual. |

Have you heard Florence? Florence is one of the most talented acts to emerge of any gender, over the past year. I would say La Roux as well but only a couple of her songs are Florence's standard.

If by incredible you mean-"sweet mother of mercy, how can one girl inflict so much damage to my inner ears", then I totally agree
