If Jay Hunt wants to hijack XFactors fans she needs to change the Strictly format. As celebs and pros dance they need to burst out in song, singing something cool, and in between do a Gabby-style cartwheel then backflip and splits.

I think I have just the song for them to sing...How about 'I don't feel like dancing' ?

Then perhaps the show could finish with that Dexy's Midnight Runners classic 'Come on Arlene'

and Bruce could get down with kids and sing 'It's murder on the dancefloor'. It most certainly would be.

I am certainly glad that a majority of the members of this forum are not judges in the old bailey, they have already condemned Alesha without giving the girl a chance. The old judges have been judged and found wanting..... hence the shake up.

Then get rid of the lot of them and replace them with people who are qualified to judge dancing.

Why couldn't they use Anton or Camilla? Even Jill would be a better choice judge than Alesha.

She will be the judge who will gives out the pity marks.

Anton is too close to the professional dancers, Camilla also, but with less personality, and what makes Jill any more qualified than Alesha ?, she has no more experience than Alesha, or is that just your personal favourite winner ?

The only reason Alesha is being "condemned" as you put it, is because she knows nothing about ballroom dancing except for the routines she learnt with Matt, and simply isn't qualified to be a judge. I'm sure Len will be giving her a crash course on what to look for - as he did with Arlene, Craig and Bruno, before the start of the series, but all 3 of them had vast and extensive dance experience (Craig had also danced ballroom), even if they didn't know the ballroom terms.

The condemnation isn't against Alesha personally.

Not quite the same. CV started on the show when she was the age her replacement is now. What the job required was a nice personality, reasonably looks and an aptitude for sums. When Richard Whitley died Channel 4 realised that viewers liked the content of the show irrespective of the presenters and declined to pay CV a fortune any more and she decided to leave. True, she wasn't given much time to make the decision and that was bad.
Alesha doesn't have the skills to do Arlene's job properly. Added to that, it's reported Alesha will be paid more than the other judges
I think the show had had it's day anyway and it's too late to refresh it.

What difference does it make how much Alesha has been paid, that's down to her "people" doing a good deal, and i guess it is a private matter between her and the BBC, how does anyone actually know what any of them are paid, it always seems to come from an "source close to" or an "Insider" nobody ever puts their hands up and admits spreading this gossip

I don't care whether the BBC pay Alesha or not. I would be extremely happy if they paid her to stay home as she lacks the ability to do the job. I don't care how much they pay Arlene just as long as she there judging SCD.
The BBC appear to be killing this once popular show with their poor decisions.
