I had the exact same response, so this is obviously their new standard reply for the show.

Or, going by the last bit of the reply:

It ensures that your points, and all other comments we receive, are circulated and considered across the BBC.

that is their initial standard reply prior to any further discussions or judgements taking place.

I would also be interested to know how many complaints they have received on this issue.

.....and at what stage do they bother doing something about it ( not necessarily this particular complaint, but complaints in general)

10.....100.....1000......5000.......not at all?”

After the 3-3-1 judges' rankings put Tom Chambers inescapably into the dance-off but Tess blithely invited the audience to spend money and "save your candidate from the dance-off", I understand the Beeb later disclosed that a total of 1,600 complaints were received very quickly by phone and email, not least from this forum.

Within half an hour an unprecedented abandonment of the dance-off was decisively implemented. The wheels turned so fast that when Tess announced the management decision all celebs, dancers and judges were stunned. It was the most thrilling or shocking moment in Strictly history.

Above the surface the Beeb maintained the serenity of a swan, but below the surface paddling was frantic and rightly so. Vox populi is not ignored.

I hate to burst the balloon on this one, but I'm pretty sure the BBC was much more bothered about breaking OfCom rules than upsetting the public that night. The show's creditability was certainly in danger, but the BBC had no choice whatsoever that night to take the steps they did whether the public complained or not. The vast majority of the public did not even realise there was a problem - even a lot of people on here took a while to understand what was going on.

Hello winnie - I wonder who this year's contestants will be - no one to equal modest Mark I'll be bound.

I have heard rumours of Richard and Judy, not to mention Sharon Osbourne

Along with Alesha's presence on the judging panel, this might be just enough to cure my addiction.

Note I said might be.

Oh and to stay OT - yes I did complain, in the full knowledge that my complaint means nothing to the decision makers.
